This may be unpopular here but I'm going to say that most UGA graduates I have met are great people and very fun to discuss football with. They come from a similar academic background and setting as Clemson which is rare for the SEC. Unlike many ACC fan bases outside of maybe Va Tech, NC State they are very knowledgeable of the game. That being said UGA graduates only make up probably less than 25% of the UGA fan base. Just as the idiot redneck breed tends to flock to Gamecock colors in South Carolina so do the very large population of idiot rednecks in the state of Georgia tend to flock to Bulldog colors. I think this is what gives the UGA fan base as a whole a bad rap and a sour taste towards the Bulldogs in many Clemson fans palates. I think there is a large distinction between South Carolina and Georgia fans though. I have rarely been able to hold an intelligent football conversation with any South Carolina fan graduate or non-graduate. UGA graduates in general have higher functional capacities and are much more fun to tailgate with and discuss the game. Just my opinion, feel free to disagree.

You didn't make me mad. Proud of my school and proud of UGA football that has the ability to draw fans from outside of it's alumni base.
Sure, every team has a base of idiots ... just smile at them and go on your way - may be the best way to handle them.

I think anyone, with any allegiance, falls into that category if they are a college football fan in the south. Always cracks me up to here that phrase...i hear Alabama fans called that all the time. The "casual CFB fan" in the south is something that doesn't exist.
I used to get hassled by UGA fans in Athens a long time ago but, as of the last few years, have had nothing but a great time there. Could be I've grown up a little bit LOL.

yea, I am glad we don't have redneck Clemson fans, that would drag our academic reputation down and have people think badly of us. I am also glad we NEVER treat visiting fans badly! it goes back to what is in these hills.

I'd be interested in where you came up with the 25%.....what % of clemson fans graduated from CU?
Just for perspective, I know dozens of successful and intelligent people that never graduated college.
