63 and constant sheets of rain on June 21?

Not even normal summer rains but winter like fronts of it.

I’ll take it because summer weather in SC is rough. Plus the humid hot weather will be here any day and it will get old very fast. Anyways GO TIGERS!!!

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

People always say we need rain. We get the rain...then the ground gets so saturated that trees are falling all over the place like on people's houses... people's cars and in the middle of the roads. Then when they get enough of that... people want dry weather. Then when they get dry weather....oh then its "" We need some rain. "" Then it goes back to what I was talking about at the beginning of this paragraph.

So lets talk about when people get tired of the heat....they want cooler weather until they get tired of the cold ....and start to miss wearing their Bahama shirts and shorts. Then they complain it's too hot.

Me....???.....I find it cheaper to wear summer clothes.....so give me summer.

Let me go on record to say i would NEVER miss the hot humid wx

Summers here are miserable. No two ways about it.

If you think summers are bad here, go to south Florida for a few days in July/August.

My son in Houston said it was 107 one day there last week with high humidity. I think I will keep our cool rain. Thanks.

Well, I'm getting ready to experience a different climate,

2

Jun 22, 2023, 4:41 AM

as I'm leaving next Saturday on a trip to south Texas along the Gulf where my kin are reporting Hades' hot, dry weather and mosquitoes as big as alligators.

About typical for this time of year down there, which will be unusual, as I typically make that trip in early June, But since the family wanted to have the reunion over the fourth, I figured, "What the heck," gave in and made the plans. The only tough part will be the 850 mile, first day drive from Columbia to Lake Charles, La, where I have reservations, as it's about a 14 hour drive via the route I take through Birmingham. The best part: I'm staying next to a great seafood joint and near a casino! lol

For our TNetters who live in the Houston/Corpus area, who like to venture out for short road trips to dine, try driving about midway between the cities to the small ranching town of Blessing just off the coast along Texas Hwy 35. There's an old hotel in the town founded and owned by my family with a coffee shop that's been featured on the Texas road travels show with a lunch buffet fit to kill for, You're stepping back in time, as the hotel was built in 1906, and nothing's changed, and the breakfasts and lunches are cheap and raved about all over that part of the state. You can get more info on line,

Take 285 to 85s in Atlanta to 65 in Montgomery to 10. It's about 30 miles shorter

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's a shorter route, no doubt, that I usually take,

Jun 23, 2023, 9:22 AM

but driving over the weekend before the fourth, I don't want to hit the heavy traffic on I-10 before I have to. Hence, why the I-20 to Meridian, then I-59 south way to I-10 at Slidell.

Drove it the last trip out, and never ran into heavy traffic until I hit I-10. Most of the time on nhon-holiday trips, I prefer your route. Thanks for the reminder.

I could do without all the rain…but not gonna complain about the cooler temps. As others have said…summers here can suck. I have often said that if I could remove July 5th through end of August (and all the associated weather that goes with it) I would in a heartbeat. It’s miserable.

The heat will be back soon enough…although I think El Niño is back…so should be a below average temp summer, fall, and winter overall. I’m at least hoping for below average temps in the winter for a change and hopefully several good snows.
