A questionable holding call had a big impact on the game last night.

Sorry... I just posted asking how the refs did last night. I guess you answered my question.

They can't be reviewed for the same reason pass interference can't be reviewed. They are both extremely ambiguous when it comes to the threshold of what constitutes them and are left to the refs discretion

On that note . . . Clemson shut out SC

SC scored their TD on a 4th down w/ a blatant holding. It was as objectively a bad call as you can get.

16-0.

This would impact the officials’ livelihood because it would impair their ability to fix spreads for organized crime.

Amen. Every thing should be reviewable. It's absolutely absurd the number of face masks that don't get called in games.

as well as all the holding against our defense this year

They hardly ever call holding against our defense.

I am the opposite. Football was better before the reviews. Football as fallen to the place where a game takes 3 hours and 15 minutes on average. Out of that 3 1/2 hours there is just 15-20 minutes is actual play action. The rest is teams dragging it the clock or other bs that chews up clock but not by actually playing the game. More reviews is not what football needs. They barely are playing the game now for all the danged navel-gazing going on.

You’re looking at 6-7 hr games. Too many reviews now. Let em play. I also propose a 12ft verticals iron pipe at each goal line corner of the end zone. That’ll determine wether players get in or not. 🤣 They either got inside the corner or they got their butt knocked back out onto the field. Less goal line reviews.

Holding occurs every play. They would have to review every single play. Sadly it has come to the point where they never call it anymore because it happens so frequently. It's like the NBA calling a travel. It happens so often, they couldn't possibly call it.

Use AI (99% joking, but only 99%)

Situate 22 cameras, so each player is filmed. Have AI immediately tabulate all the penalties on every play and provide a sum on the scoreboard immediately of yards gained or loss on penalties. Have only one referee to spot the ball.

"5 yards gain on that play, added are a net of 10 yards for 3 targeting calls minus the 4 holding calls accumulated from the offensive line"

??

Holding gets called so much it should be a 5-yard penalty.
