I understand why they did it, but looking at his career W/L, outside of his final season at UTChatt and this year, he had two abysmal seasons and three pretty good seasons (in terms of W/L). He has an overall losing record in conference play across 7 seasons. I hope he crashes and burns because I can't pull for scar to win anything, but it's possible they hit on their hire.

Shoot I'd lock him up as well. If you watched them this year they looked way better coached than any BB coached team in 14 seasons. When they lost they simply lost due to talent. They aren't overly talented. They play with toughness and Grit every game and does what it takes to win. I feel Paris will make them into a consistent tournament team for years to come while we accept mediocrity with BB.

Agreed. They haven't looked this good as a team since the Eddie Folger days (and that includes Frank Martin's Final 4 team a couple of years back, but that team had a much more talented roster). I'm sure SCAR would have loved to see if he could duplicate it for a 2nd year before signing him to a big money deal, but he definitely would have been scooped up by a better program. They really had no choice. He really did turn water into wine this year with that squad.

He is definitely a good coach and the most likable of all their coaches

But I’m honestly fine with it. I think they have had gotten fairly lucky all year in a weak conference. I don’t think he’s gonna keep them in the top 25 consistently but I could be wrong. It was definitely a much better hire than a lot of people, including me, thought.
