C’mon Folks

It’s a retro year; Danny ball all over again. Defense, special teams and just enough O to pull out a win. We’ve been spoiled but a win is a win. Enjoy each and every one of them no matter how you get there. Go Tigers. Lets get another one in Pitt next week.

You remember the Danny Days differently than I do. Yes we ran the ball a lot ..but we bulldozed teams when we did. 3rd and short...no problem. Punch it! We are NOT that team.

So often back in the day a game was won on field goals and defense. Yeah, Danny won quite a few that way. A win is a win.

1981 offense

The championship team scored a little over 300 points that year and a lot of those were over white meat teams. I sat thru a lot of 10, 17, 24 point games during those years and enjoyed each win. Style points were not in vogue back then.

It was a different game back then. Don’t take falling off our perch lightly. Hard to impossible to get back on top the way recruiting works now.

But what matters is the victory. Dabo’s track record speaks for itself just like Danny’s did. They are both products of the Bama system. I have faith that Dabo understands fully what it takes to stay on top of the mountain. A sputtering offense can be corrected. We as fans are just spoiled over the last few years. In the meantime enjoy the job that Coach V is doing with his side of things.
