They will most likely do what everyone else seems to be doing. Take the NCAA

to court, beat them there, and have the penalties thrown out.

College football fans really are a mixed bag these days. On the one hand, we clamor about having a level playing field for all. And yet, when the NCAA makes moves to try and do just that, we want our schools to do all they can to neuter the NCAA in court, and as a result, we have the Wild, Wild West that now exists.

The NCAA is tottering on the brink of extinction. What will replace it? We are already seeing it, in the recent power and money grab by the BIG and SEC in football Playoff expansion, AND unequal distribution of Playoff revenues among the conferences. It really is devolving into an US vs THEM scenario, and right now, Clemson is among the US that is getting the shaft, in no uncertain terms.

The NCAA is not exempt from antitrust laws. That is why they lose in court and that is why we have NIL.

His Highness, Greg Sankey, will probably assume control. It Just Means More.

When the SEC and B1G try to get what they believe is a fair share, it’s a power and money grab. When certain ACC teams demand unequal revenue distribution based on what they believe they add to the conference, it’s reasonable and the other schools just need to accept it.

If you go back to 1998, which was the dawn of any actual Playoff (BCS), here's

how National Championships stack up by Conference.

SEC 14
BIG 3
ACC 4
Big 12 2
Pac 12 1
Big East 1

So, while the SEC might clearly lay claim to having a bigger share, I fail to see how the BIG is similarly entitled. You would have to add the one that USC won as a member of the Pac-12 to equal the ACC, and you still wouldn't because following that logic, the ACC would add the one that Miami won while in the Big East. So, the ACC would still be one up, and the SEC would add the two that Oklahoma won, to make their margin even wider.

Somehow, what has happened is that Greg Sankey has been convinced, by machinations that none of us are aware of, to take on the BIG as an equal money and power partner, for the time being. But, rest assured, if it came down to it, he, and the SEC would stab you Tree Turds in the back with the dullest knife he could find, if it meant one more dollar for his precious SEC in the long haul. Hide and watch it happen, because it will.

You think a conference commissioner looking out for his conference's best interests is exclusive to Sankey? Remember "The Alliance?" Five minutes after signing on to that nonsense the B1G was bringing on Pac 12 schools.

The SEC and the B1G have many member schools that do not deserve the money they will be receiving--have never earned their way into that kind of money. Is that fairness on any level?

When get the biggest payout it is easier to be "fair" within your conference. When 2 teams carry the conference (in the CFP see below) and are still get half of what other conferences get it makes a difference.

CFP appearances

Conf Ap Teams
SEC 13 3
B1G 9 3
ACC 8 3 (ND 2020)
B12 6 3
P10 2 2
G5 1 1
ND 1 1 Ind

NCAA "penalties" have become the equivalent of getting a Warning Ticket for speeding.

well, NIL is supposed to be separate from the school.... period. The collective/employer should be seeking out the athlete to use their name, image and likeness. That way it's not pay for play. If caught the penalties should be more harsh than what is being handed out.

The Chettahs are at it again....discrimination against those savages again...no real penalty from NCAA for cheating. Buying and stealing players...and some on this website want you to think they are our friends and we should be on their side! Any conference will be better off without them...didn't their coach have problem at Memphis but nobody cared...probably the reason the horse eaters hired him...he fit right in!
