Fortunate to be able to post things this morning, Spectrum

Jul 27, 2022, 8:10 AM

service has been out of order more than it has been on the last four straight days. They are sending someone to "fix" it this morning for the umpteenth time. They KNOW the problem is a bad main cable somewhere in the area, and they are too %$#@! to replace it. So, they keep trying to boost what scant signal there is, instead of doing what they ought to do. Sound familiar to anyone?

still the best deal in TV and internet

we have fiber in my neighborhood and a couple of my neighbors went to it and different TV services...

att jacked up the price of fiber and 1 is coming back to spectrum.

The other neighbor is ok with paying more for fiber and i think youtube tv.

I would jump all over the fiber but just cant agree to spend the extra money

Fiber is exponentially better than cable in terms of speed and reliability. Well worth the extra cost.

1 neighbor didn't notice a difference but he was only paying for the equivalent 300 mb service that spectrum offers

my other neighbor is paying for the gig service and agrees.. it is waaaaay better but that is $80 month vs $40 . no gracias

I am having soooooooooooo much trouble with Spectrum!!!!!!!!!! I know your feelings.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Spectrum sucks !!!

Jul 27, 2022, 9:06 AM

Their services and their customer service are all terrible. I cancelled all of my services with them several years ago. I also got fed-up with them offering HUGE discounts to new customers and not doing anything for their existing loyal customer base.

But, the sad reality is this: Even if I were to "cut the

cord", and go to a streaming service, the actual signal would still have to be transmitted down....the existing Spectrum cable lines in my area.

I even did some preliminary checking with Dish Network, that I used to have years ago (TV only at the time). They too offer "bundled" services, but, they tell you up front that the phone and internet part of it is subcontracted through existing area providers "hardlines". Which, in my case, would once again be Spectrum.

So, as Eeyore said so eloquently, years ago, "We're Doooomed."

Certainly familiar but not with Spectrum

fried all my TV boxes (per their support). Then they said it would be 2 weeks before a tech could come out. Needless to say, I dropped them.

TV boxes? you only needed 1.

Jul 27, 2022, 9:30 AM

Spectrum has a TV app you can run on all your other TV's.. same channels.. no limit on how many users can be streaming at one time.

The only catch is you can only get ALL your channels through your home modem/ wifi. IF you try to use the charter App on your mobile devices or through any other wifi....you will only get a few basic channels.

also.. u could run into any local shop and change your box out in about 10 mins..... less time if you have an appointment.

We all seem to agree on. Spectrum is beyond terrible. I will be divorced from their tv package very, very soon.

I am sure they will increase their wi fi costs as soon as I turn in my boxes.

Have a different view. Been with Spectrum for close to 20 years without any major problems. Even when I have had to speak with their tech service members they sre very easy to understand

Same here

I live in Simpsonville and have had Charter and Spectrum since the mid 90s with very few problems, maybe since their Taj Mahal Headquarters is only about 4 miles from here out on Hwy 385. My email address still ends with charter.net. Maybe it's the country folks with the problems idk.

The cost sucks though. I only have a medium speed internet connection and extended basic cable with no premium channels and I'm paying over $200/month and it goes up some every 6 to 8 months. But I'm addicted to it. Gotta have some Tnet, sports, flicks, etc. I agree though that it sucks new customers get great deals for a year or two and existing long time loyal customers get shafted.

LOL! Before I cut the cord...my Spectrum..well Charter kept

Kept going out between about 2pm and around 7pm IN THE SUMMER. Now
..I don't know squat but I kept telling them I thought it was the heat....they took my advice with a grade of slaw....But, low and behold....it turned out a capacitor or something similar had gone bad and was OVERHEATING!
