I think your thinking a little too much into the situation. They go to the White House meet the president and get a tour. They are not going to be asked political questions and our team will not be caught in a liberal/espn witch hunt. This is an honor and should be treated like that. Nothing will happen political wise during this visit so you can calm down and not worry about us being marters!

In a way you're probably right, but this is a tradition and it would be a shame regardless of how we feel about a person or persons, our team won that right to go and be recognized for the accomplishment they did this year. So proud of our Tigers and hope this will be a great trip and a educational trip. Hope they get to see a lot of Washington and just enjoy it. These guys are smart and will not let themselves be taken into a situation where it will be controversial. They deserve this and I hope they have a great time. Go Tigers show Washington what Champions look like. Go Tigers!!!

My right-winged family think I am a "lib" and my truly liberal family think I am Rush Limbaugh...
Anyway, I think it's an honor and a tradition for championship teams to meet the president no matter who is in office. It simply shouldn't be made political.
Having said all that, I would take Obama, the Bushes, Ford, or practically any president over Trump to meet if i were a player just because of all the controversy surrounding him. But that's not how it is and if I were a player I would go and not make a political statement about it no matter how I felt about the president.
