For those of you feeling sorry for the fans....

Please, spare me... These people worshipped a monster who allowed this to go on for how many years?? Now they find out that it went on, and MOST of them still want to protect his legacy and the good that he did... ########... If any of those "fans" had any moral fiber at all you wouldn't still be a fan of Piece of #### University for letting this go on.
Penn St got everything they deserved.. So no, I don't feel sorry for the "fans" who choose to still support a university and a program that knew small children were being raped and didn't do a #### thing about it.

There are PSU fans that are repulsed by what Joe and others

did in the cover up and are extremely embarassed and heart broken over the matter. You can't lump all fans in to one broad category, just like I'm sure you wouldn't want to be judged based on actions of some Clemson fans. Every fan base has a wide range of fans. I do feel sorry for the PSU fans that are like me.

some time with posts and don't realize we're painting with too broad a brush. And I also get repulsed when I see some of the PSU fans act with no apparent remorse for the situation and only focus their attention and effots on defending Joe no matter what.

Say it comes out something happened at clemson in the past. All people involved are punished by the law. NCAA steps in and gives clemson death penalty would you support it?

I've got a good friend who is a Penn State fan...

I've been talking with him this morning and he feels terrible.
He has not once defended the organization. I cannot imagine how I would feel if something like this happened to CU. Luckily I don't think we have to worry about it but you never know.
I'd think that you (ClemsonMike830) would have a little more sense than to make an ignorant statement like you did.

You're right OMan, I should have been a little more clear...

I like to think that I do have the sense to not make random stupid posts and I should have been more clear by saying that the fans that have acted like Joe Paterno is still the greaetst thing to ever happen to college football are the ones that I DO NOT in the least feel sorry for.
Fans that have any moral fiber about them, yes I do. I apologize for not being a little more clear.

Are you serious???

Now we're making an example of fans and students? Let me tell you something. My sister is a proud graduate of Penn State. Every day she is unfairly punished with faces and snide remarks when she tells people where she graduated from. Does she deserve this? I think not. But this is how it will be now for the forseeable future and probably forever. Every innocent member of this community has had a sizeable piece of their life taken away, simply for being a "fan" or a student or a resident of the community. And a great one it still is. This is an awful story, but it could happen ANYWHERE or at ANY university. Rather than put down innocent people for standing behind something they believed in for so many years, take a step back and think. And be thankful we still have what we have. I, for one, could never imagine having it all taken away overnight like this.

You said it there, yourself. The fans and alumni were already punished by the unveiling of this scandal. Any punishments that are handed down to the university do not worsen the damage that was caused by Jerry, Joe, and the rest of those involved.
