For those of you asking about FSU v ACC update...

...I just finished reading a long thread on a Nole message board. The discussion was initiated by an attorney. However, this attorney is not trying to explain why FSU is right and the ACC is wrong and it's a slam dunk win for the Noles. He is more just giving a general explanation of how this type of case normally tracks through the courts. It was hard to tell about the responses. Most were from fans looking through garnet colored glasses. Some were folks who seem to understand this is a complex case far beyond a layman's ability to understand by just reading social media. I think a couple of responders might be attorneys as well, but I can't confirm that.
Anyway, here is the information.
***** FSU served discovery on the ACC in the Florida lawsuit on Feb. 9. All that is posted on the clerk site is the notice that discovery was sent. The document says FSU served Interrogatories (written questions), requests for production (request for documents and things), and request for admissions (formal request to admit discrete facts, designed to limit fights over facts not really in dispute). The actual discovery requests were NOT filed. *****
Lots of speculation about what this means. It appears to be the normal "next step" in the process. Some are surprised why the media didn't pick it up as newsworthy.
Some think this shows that the process is going to take months/years before a solution. Some are thinking this means FSU is taking the fight to the ACC and not just sitting around waiting on a judge to tell them what to do next. Some think it means that FSU is pushing the ACC and forcing them to negotiate quickly and come to an out of court settlement.
Me? I have no idea. My impression from the attorney who posted the information and worked diligently to answer several questions in the thread, is that FSU is prepared to take the long legal road through the courts, if necessary.
I'm still guessing that some sort of settlement between ESPN, Fox, CFP, SEC, B1G, and conference expansion will make this lawsuit irrelevant by August. FSU and Clemson will play their last regular season ACC conference game in November of 2024. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I don't think this is going to take that long because FSU will ask that the case be expedited due to having to schedule or reschedule games for 2025 season and prepare travel plans for those games, etc. FSU is not going to let this drag out. This case will be decided in a Florida court. You can bet that the Florida AG will see that the case is expedited in a Fla. court.

Chances are the interrogatories will never be answered in writing and especially will never be answered in full. If they are, the ACC is burnt toast. This is going to some type of settlement.

Keep trying horse eater...there are a number of meaningful issues that must be answered before any discovery or anything else...like SOL...estoppel...breaking a contract ...good faith...FSU does want discovery on this lame duck hunt...you cats still don't get it...this is contract and copyright law 101...apparently not taught at the FSU law school! Wait till ESPN weighs in on this!

bretfsu® is a long-time, respected poster on here . . . and he was relaying information that he found on another message board - with lots of disclaimers & such as to what the content was and what it means.
And then he gave his opinion - that he said was just his opinion.
What's your problem, donkey eater ? ?

Why is anyone on the Clemson board and heavily into what goes on at the FSWTC? We have trolls on here all the time from the poultry farm...as bad as clunky is he has rarely pulled the garbage that the horse eaters have...I grew up in Florida and my family was gator...I made my bed at CCC and that's who I am worried about...not some college who still owes us traveling expenses to Tallahassee for a game that they were too special to play! If the savages win against the ACC I believe Clemson loses in the long run and damages all our friends and enemies inthe ACC! 2AD tanks for the memories! Ole dizzy said it best "dance with who brung you"!

Simple as pie, in order to survive Clemson must get out of the ACC, and get the same or close revenue stream that the SEC or Big 10 has for their programs. Not rocket science.

We have 100 plus FBS institutions and you have 2 conferences that have decided to hijack the whole model and benefit themselves and say #### on everyone else.
I know I’m in the minority but college ball is quickly losing its appeal for me personally. Never, ever would have thought I would feel this way about college football and where it is headed. Life is tough and college football was an “out” for myself to enjoy on Saturday’s. I will always support my Tigers regardless but #### this is tough.

I think more people feel like you than you realize. I wish everyone did as that might be the only way to save the sport ironically. By the fans saying No thanks, this isn't college football in any way shape or form.

I wonder how fans of the BIG and SEC feel about where college sports is headed?

Much ado about nothing procedurally. Complex litigation is a long drawn out process for many reasons. I don’t expect any mutually agreed upon settlement for some time because there is no incentive on the league’s part and FSU lacks leverage to obtain said settlement for the foreseeable future.

Thanks. I'm assuming from your handle you are an attorney. Clearly I am not. I think that if there were no outside forces affecting this, the situation would, as you say, take years to resolve.
But, I think the outside forces - all money driven (TV contracts, how that money is distributed, to whom it is distributed) - will lead to an out of court settlement much quicker than letting the case proceed through the courts at a normal pace.
I appreciate your input. It keeps me grounded in reality and not just looking at it from the eyes of a fanatic.
