For some reason we have trouble beating out UGA for

recruits. Marshall and Gurley are recent ones that come to mind. I hate that Adams is down to us and UGA. Hopefully we can buck recent trends and beat out UGA.

John Johnson who was committed to UGA but told us he wanted to come to Clemson, and the Ford staff told him to just wait and sign with us thus avoiding the pressure. It worked as we got him, and they were shocked.

Don't ask me how I know but what I can tell you is that both wanted to run track and at that time, they were told that they wouldn't be able to.
I don't think that is going to be an issue from here on out.... I think there will be a good working relationship between track and football.

They also thought they were going to get Charone Peake and Ricky Sapp, I think, but I don't recall their really being in it.
And, oh yeah, David Beasley...I think they really wanted him...as well as Corey Crawford. I recall the fans pretty much questioning why Clemson was in their "territory" of Columbus.
I know they were recruiting Brandon Thompson, but I don't recall if there was a battle for him.

As I remember, they were in on both Beasley and Crawford but apparently Richt burnt some bridges down there...Completely ticked off the Carver coaching staff and a few other folks..I think he might have pulled a scholly or too after Crawford's academic woes were brought to light...
