Before you can begin to enjoy retirement, you must find the answer to The Unanswerable Question: “what are you doing?” Tread carefully for any answer you give is fraught with peril. You may be asked this question by your spouse at anytime and anything you say can be used against you.

At first I thought “what would you like for me to do?” was the correct answer. No: “(sigh) Can’t you see what needs to be done?”

The only real answer to the question is to maintain an office away from home and spend most of what used to be you working hours there. It worked for my father and, so far, it’s been working for me. You experience may vary.
