I have forgotten my science over the years.....you probably will not see this message, but go ahead and explain why you would disagree with my statement.
What makes you say on paper TODAY...that Brownell is better than Purnell at this point in their Clemson coaching careers. Im not talking about Purnell at DePaul.
Purnell at least brought energy to the sport...watching Brownell's teams are boring. They are not very good at all. Maybe the first team was just ok (Purnell would have won more, no question about it). I wasnt the biggest Purnell fan, but he was better than what we have currently.
Brownell may work out fine when he gets guys like Blossomgame and Sullivan back, but we shall see. I think its just that Brownell can only coach one style of ball (just like Purnell - but opposite sytles) and until he has his guys.....he cannot flourish.

Gee, I think you just described 95% of basketball coaches out there. Unless you're suggesting we go after someone like Bill Self or Coach K, I think we'd best stick with Brownell.

Im not against him...Im not big on him, I think he's just an average coach that'll give you just enough....but thats Clemson bball.....is what it is.
My response to Shack is in regards to Purnell. I just think Purnell is a better coach based on the results.
Im not saying we should fire Brownell.
An no....not all coaches need their guys to flourish. Some coaches can adapt to certain styles...Brownell isn't one of them.

You have no idea what you're talking about. You don't even know the names of our injured players (BTW, Bernard Sullivan is just fine)

I thought Sullivan was hurt. Does he just stink as a player then? Why would he not play.
Purcell was not a bad coach as people on here lead everyone to believe. The guy is responsible for one of the best stretches in Clemson Baal history.
I wish I had your optimism about Brownell. I would love to hear your comments on where I'm wrong, people on this website do a good job of making claims, but not really proving points. Maybe myself included.

Devin Coleman is the one who is hurt. I'd like it if you even told me why he is important to the team, as you seem to know very little about it.

I've only seen a handful of ball games this year and didn't realize he played so little.
I guess he's not any good then. Someone elaborate.

detriment to the Clemson basketball program and Brownell will lead us to the promised land.
I thought Purnell did well, not great, but well. We competed in most games and won our fair share, made 3 NCAA trips as well.
Brownell may lead us to some serious success, but no reason to trash Purnell in the meantime. The man made a lot of progress in his time at Clemson.

He lost me when we lost 2 games the same year because he wouldn't foul in the last seconds with a 3 point lead. Both overtime losses.

His contract is enough for him to retire on. Why work when you are not good at your job and you've got 6+ mil to hold you over?
