Yep. It's the truth, and it's only comparing the programs indirectly. It's not abrasive. And although it can be construed as a response to Spurrier based on context, it's not snarky/passive aggressive.

It was a necessary response to a very unnecessary retort made by spurlid. Dabo did the right thing, even though the sting already was there for spurlid and his coot fans. State championships don't mean very much outside the small state of SC, and they never will.

Yeah, state championships don't mean much to Clemson-South Carolina fans either. Like it or not, Spurrier is in Dabo's head.

If you are 1-5 against your competition, most coaches would start beating them before he starts running off at the mouth.5 n a row by 10 points or more.

More accurately I wish he didn't constantly have to have a need to say something, but as long as Slurrier is running his mouth, there will always be a need for a comeback. I don't think Swinney enjoys this back and forth game very much but I also know that, given his personality, he is not going to sit back and take it.

I think its a whole lot easier to prepare for a game against a legit team than to prepare for lets say THE LONGEST YARD TEAM AND A COACH WHO ONLY CARES ABOUT HIS OWN RECORDS, PER THE COOTS.........

What truth? We have a rivalry, but most Carolina fans don't wish for losses of our rival team in a bowl game. Sure we watch the game, but the better team wins. For those of you living in South Carolina it's a good representation of the state.

Yeah, that why they pay out over $15M for going to a BCS game. Doesn't mean anything - on the championship means anything? Guess all those teams playing football each year are for nothing.

Not with their big brother still winning meaningful championships. You have to do something meaningful during your regular season to get invited to a BCS bowl. And losing to a unranked Tenn team isn't going to get you there.

Fans are.you can bet it means a lot. All you hear about all yr long is how great it is to play in sec then all last month how unfair it was that they were not in a bcs bowl. I told myself yrs back that a program gets respect by not just making one but winning one. Somehow, while we were beating y'all 3 of every4 it didn't make me feel good. Spurrier knows it is the only bone he will ever have to throw to the coot fans. You can bet it matters plenty. Streaks In a rivalry come and go

You're joining this party awfully late. Have to sleep off your disappointment that we actually won? And to your point, sure high level high school athletes in this day in age are known for their humbleness and conservatism and probably are looking for a demure coach who is afraid to get into it with his rival. I'm sure those comments will have a tremendously negative effect on recruiting. Obvious troll is obvious.

That' right. Clemson lost to UGA and an unranked HORRIBLE Tennessee team. The coots did deserve to go because they lost to #1 possible national champs and #9 in the country. Clearly the teams they lost to were better than the teams Clemson lost to.

USuCk lost to a now un-ranked 5-7 team. Read that again.... 5-7! And lost to a team we beat. Clemson lost to the #1 team and the #9 team, and beat the #7 team last night.
That's it. End of story. Adding the names to the teams above won't change ANY of those facts.
It sucks that the coots have won 5 in a row. But at least we didn't lose to TENNESSEE! Or to Georgia. No matter how you spin it, that's moving in the right direction.

5 in a row is 5 in a row.
BTW, we beat you guys, Missouri, UCF and Wisconsin. 3 of those will finish top 15.
And as far as losing to Tenn, well, you're right. we pulled a Clemson. No other way to say it.

Gosh, if only there was a way to tell which of our teams were the better team. All these crazy arguments about who SC lost to and who Clemson lost to or who they both beat or who had the stronger schedule or who played in the best bowl. I mean, I don't know...maybe if SC and Clemson played each other, we would know for sure which team was the better team. If that was possible, maybe, just maybe, that would shed some light on this whole thing.
