40+ " vertical ?!? That kills that stereotype. When you are 6'4" tall and have that kind of ups , you can really disrupt passing lanes over the middle of the field. I like this kids potential....send him a box of chocolates Coach BV!

if so, is he projected to stay at LB or will he move to safety at some point?

The camp stats tend to be pretty accurate. As for the move, probably not likely considering the 40 time. It's going to easier for him to put on another 15-20 pounds and maintain that forty or get it closer to a 4.7 than to get the forty time down to the 4.6 range to be an effective safety, let alone the agility needed to be a good safety. If you notice, the better safeties usually run closer to 4.55, but definitely no higher than 4.65.

Though I agree we will stay at LB and probably WLB the top 5ish safeties for the upcoming draft have 40 times ranging from 4.58 to 4.66 so I'm not sure those numbers are quite correct. I would say don't get too caught up in 40 times and look at fluidity in the hips. I expect this guy to be a rangy WLB which is what we need if we plan on playing nickle as a base defense.

Me: closer to 4.55 - 4.65 40's for the better safeties Pp: "...the top 5ish safeties for the upcoming draft have 40 times ranging from 4.58 to 4.66..." ...not sure what your disagreement is with the numbers. your numbers mirror mine... I also mentioned that safeties require better agility than LBs which fluidity of hips is a key component of agility for safeties, so where is it that we diverge on this commit and what we expect of him on the field?

What recruiting service has the sand to give him a 4th star?

If he was an SEC commit it would be a done deal. The kid is killing it right now.
