Does anyone else hate the camera angle most networks use for college football? You can see the line of scrimmage, and maybe one WR up top and one down below. But it's impossible to watch a play develop if WR/TE's are running vertical routes....they're entirely off-camera. It never really bothered me until DJU and our WR's were off-sync for two whole years. I wanted to pay attention to the WR's running down field to see if they were getting separation. The only way you get to truly find out is if they show it on the replay.
Same... this is why I love it when ESPN broadcasts a game on 3-4 different channels (usually the playoff games) and one shows the whole field. However, the players are extremely small because the camera is zoomed out.
but there's so much to pay attention to and keep track of on any given play that I just shrug my shoulders and look for other things. But you have a good point. You sort of have to either have to catch it on a replay or else hope whatever happens causes the camera man to pan far down enough to get a glimpse of the routes.
