Florida State is buying a bunch of transfers

Dec 14, 2022, 2:50 PM

Just got jaheim bell, now getting the starting OT from Alabama.

Still gotta coach and develop that talent...

Dec 14, 2022, 3:00 PM

Just ask Jimbo how that has worked-out for him at A&M.

Not too good !!!

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Jimbo is a terrible coach, watch and see what it does for

Dec 14, 2022, 3:11 PM

good coaches.... it will take a few years but in about 3 to 4 years it will be very top heavy with the schools that have the most $$$$ to spend....... It will be very Hard for Clemson to win another Natty without the NIL $$$$ that the big schools can offer.

So far, Norvell has proven he can coach

Dec 14, 2022, 5:52 PM [ in reply to Still gotta coach and develop that talent... ]

and on top of that, start making positive changes in the culture.

FSU is on it's way back, IMO, I can see them winning 10-11 gams next year.

Which, IMO, Good. They should be winning 10+ games every year. So should Miami (even though I don't care if they do or not) and VT or NC State should be winning 9+ each year too.

Yep. They may get Lloyd as well. Norvell has also assembled a pretty good staff. They will a tough matchup going forward.

On the other hand, Miami looks to add another 5 star OL commitment. That should push them into the top 5 for the 23 class. I am not sold on Cristobol as a coach. If he does happen to gain some competence, they could be a force as well.

The thing is, kids want to win now and culture does matter as evidenced by the TAM debacle this year. If Miami does not win big next year, these kids will leave.

How exactly are they buying them?

Dec 14, 2022, 4:02 PM

Or is insinuating that other teams buy players part of the prep work for ultimately blaming our inability to get said players on a lack of money?

Datum, even a coot can see there is a lot of money being flung in low places.

Dayum----- auto correct.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No, people blaming money is all part the ridiculous narrative here

Dec 14, 2022, 4:24 PM [ in reply to Re: How exactly are they buying them? ]

that we lose players because we don’t play the NIL game. The narrative also states that we are a blue collar fan base that is just a buncha good ‘ol boys that doesn’t have the money the wealthy schools do, and can’t compete when it comes to NIL.

Basically, when we don’t get a recruit it must be because it came down to a bidding war and we couldn’t afford them. It’s an amazing story that gets created here.

Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.

Nah we can't pay the fans. But the fans would be much more enthusiastic if Brownell had more money.

Bro, go jump off a bridge. I’ve never met someone that just likes Clemson basketball but hates Clemson football. I know you pull for whoever Clemson plays. Based on your posts you hate Dabo, the fans, and all of the football staff. Just stay on the basketball board loser.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I love Clemson football, but if some of you are any indication

Dec 14, 2022, 7:26 PM

Clemson football fans are the whiniest, most sensitive, and most conspiracy-minded fan base in existence.

My whole life, I’ve viewed Clemson fans as the best. Devoted, loyal, sensible, good people. But I come on TNet and see fans who believe everyone is against us, refs screw us, the media hates us, we’re so disadvantaged and poor, and other teams are all cheating when they have success.

I just have to hope that the crap I read here isn’t reflective of our fan base as a whole.

What % of the board is saying that, troll?

Dec 14, 2022, 6:51 PM [ in reply to No, people blaming money is all part the ridiculous narrative here ]

Heck, that'd be like goofballs using facilities and fans as an excuse for sucking. Who does that?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We have as much or more NIL money as FSU.

Yet another failed troll job.

Will you ever find a meaningful life?

OT from Bama.

Dec 14, 2022, 4:17 PM

That would be huge for us if we get him. I haven't seen anything about it yet. I'll go look around. Thanks.

Javion Cohen?

Dec 14, 2022, 4:27 PM

I'm seeing that he's committed to Miami.

Well, I give their coaches credit for using the portal to try and improve their teams.

Re: Florida State is buying a bunch of transfers

Dec 14, 2022, 6:00 PM

I agree with those who think the "School X is buying transfers" argument is pretty week.

The irony here is that, great program history aside, FSU's program has had money problems for twenty years. If FSU boosters had THAT much money, they would have thrown in into facilities for the last two decades, not saving it with the speculation that they'd be able to "buy players" in 2022.
