First Game in 12 Years

Jul 30, 2012, 11:00 AM

My mom and step-dad gave me and my wife tickets to the Furman game for my 30th birthday in section L row B and I was able to get a parking pass for lot 13. When is the best time to show up? what's the best stuff to do before the game? When do they do the Tigerwalk?

My personal preference is to arrive as early as possible which is generally a minimum of four hours prior to kick-off (at least for the games with early kickoff times). For the later kickoff times, six plus hours before kickoff would not be unusual.

Walk around the campus. It's beautiful and it has changed alot in the last twelve years. Stop by the Hendrix Center for some Clemson ice cream. Check out the pre-game pepralley in the amphitheater. Also be sure to check out The Tiger Walk that takes place behind the West End Zone about two hours prior to kick-off. Walk down on to the field after the game and gather at the Paw with the players.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

good suggestions - but gather in Lot 5 for Tiger Walk closer

to 2 1/2 hours before kickoff to get on first row if you want to see the players up close.

Walk downtown. Come early (4 hrs) & stay late (2 hrs).

Bring your own tailgate food and beverages and just enjoy the crowd and atmosphere. There is nothing to compare to a fall football Satiurday afternoon at Clemson!

Just as a warning

you may have to move your car from lot 13 within an hour or 2 of the end of the game.

not sure if you're planning on tailgating afterwards, but 2 years ago we parked there all season and had to move within an hour or 2. they will announce it at the game if that's the case. not sure if they did that last year...

I went to my first game in 34 years for Dabo's first game as Interim Head Coach. I figured it to be a one-time deal because my wife is not a football fan. She enjoyed herself so much that we also attended Homecoming, UVA in Charlottesville, Usuck and the Gator Bowl. Unfortunately, we both got laid off 9 days after the Gator Bowl so hopefully we can attend our first game in 3 years this year.

Walk around campus and see the old places you used to go.

Go find your name on a brick somewhere with your graduating class.
