by no means am I an expert but here is what I see. Without an ACC network we will continually lose ground to the rest of the power 5, esp sec. His answers at ACC were not very encouraging. I hope there is behind the scenes stuff we don't know about yet. Second, he would be perfectly happy if the ACC were the " sec of basketball". If he is banking on ND to help FB, we will be waiting a long time.
Screw Swoffie, get someone who gives a shat about the entire conf., not just one school.

Swofford's "deal" to allow Notre Dame into our football conference on their terms was horrible. If we were a business (and it is!), he'd have been let go as the CEO. After their first year of the "5 ACC football games, but we want in on all other sports" deal, even the coaches were openly questioning the deal at the media week.
Apparently, he can't get the TV deal to gain traction either.
He is in a position where he can't lead the conference forward...

People will watch nd play wake. They Will not watch wake play duke.
I still do bit like the deal even if Clemson makes money off it. Nd thinks they are bigger than college football. the big east and acc encouraged that attitude.

Seriously though - Dabo and other coaches have lit the fuse to demand ND join some conference to be allowed to play in the NC playoff. Once that becomes a rule, then ND will finally join the ACC. Just be patient young grasshopper, this will happen in your lifetime.

OnLY 2 things will bring nd football to a conference.
1) consistently being left out of the playoffs, or official word that not being in a conference will stand against them in the eyes of the committee
2) nbc yanks thier deal
Both very remote chances.
An even more remote chance is if nbc some how inks an acc network deal and brings nd into the loop to make it happen.

NOBODY in the ACC wants to rock their little boat, and possibly be singled out by swofford if he is not fired. Would you seriously do that if you were in a position to do it? The rest of the ACC should unite and do it as ONE, otherwise if everyone is not on board and it goes south, then those schools that opposed swofford would be in for some serious retaliation IMO.
Translation: NOBODY has a pair, so nothing will happen.
