Only 6.5 sacks against SEC and like 4.5 against us...

oh good grief...Clowney is the biggest GAME CHANGER in the country - even more than Johnny Heisman Manzeil (or even Boyd). Stats don't always mean a whole lot, and if that's all anyone uses, then they aren't looking at the game.
IMO - and I hate and detest those chickens - Clowney is the leading Heisman candidate until something changes - drastically.
Can we just deal with that and get on with it?

Biggest game changer? Hardly. As to the Heisman, maybe.***

So if that's your reasoning then why wasn't Spiller invited to Heisman ceremony in 09'. He was the most "game changing" player in the country by far that year. 500 yds receiving, 1200 rushing, 21 tds, and 5 of those were kick/punt returns.
Still blows my mind he was not a top 5 Heisman candidate in 09'

Nobody seemed to think he was a Heisman Candidate.

Bowers never had 15.5 sacks in a season! He only had 10.5 in 2010. Which is our record. Vic Beasley will break that this year. 1/3 of Doo DOO sacks cam against us. he has 5.5 vs Clemson.

Clowney is very good

But he is not Heisman worthy. Stats are important but they only tell part of the story. Unfortunately , the ESPNsman will come down to the wire based solely on a good tackle and some sort of perceived otherworldliness. Clowney will finish 2nd or 3rd in the voting because somebodys QB or WR or RB will have a great yr...as always. Got to love the Chicken Fever on the TV though. Hope ROC nation is ready because babysitting this idiot is going to be taxing...to put it mildly.

Clowney is as good as advertised--the games I've seen, he is constantly double-teamed, chipped (except for Clemson, of course....boy, that was a great game-plan, huh?) and run away from. I guess that I can accept greatness in my rivals better than a lot of Tiger fans do. However, he is the ESPN flavor of the month, and has been for awhile. We should never underestimate the power of the printed or spoken word, especially when moving pictures and instant replay in slow motion are attached. That said, IMO it will again be a QB or RB taking the Heisman.

clowney. he will beat most 1 on 1's, as a good d.e. should, he's a very good speed rusher, no more, no less.

So is every other DE mentioned in that article. Bowers and Gaines were double teamed most of the time. 6.5 sacks against SEC teams is not that impressive he is a no 1 pick based on athleticism and potential but the amount of hype preseason is kinda ridiculous.
