Finally Got an Up Close View

Jul 17, 2022, 12:06 PM

of the bear I've been getting pics of on my trail cams. About 10:30 this morning, he walked out of the woods into the yard about 50 to 60 yards from my pool shed. I was getting in the UTV to go feed the horses when I saw him. He is a big boy - ar least 3 ft at the shoulders and about 6 ft long and looks healthy. I have a feeling he was heading around the backside of a horse fence to my blueberry bushes but ran back into the woods when he saw me. Never a dull moment on the farm.

A big Bear was spotted in the neighborhood I grew up in the other day. This neighborhood is in South Central Spartanburg well inside the city limits.

There have been two killed on Hwy 17, between MtP and Mclellanville in the past year.

The bear population is growing all over the state. I've been getting pics of this one at different times of the year for 2 years. I dont think he migrates further up in the mountains in the fall and has become a permanent resident to the area.
