I hear the pundits say the Final 4 should be the best 4 teams in the country. BUT... if you're Alabama and you've already lost to a team in the Final 4, or Georgia and lost to a soon to be 4-8 team, shouldn't we at least get to see how another 1 loss team from a different conference can do? Tired of the same old SEC narrative. Three teams in the Top 5! Surprised they didn't have a two loss Florida ranked as #6.
There are a couple of undefeated teams out there, and no, they probably aren't the best teams in the nation, but haven't they earned the right to play for the Championship?
Notice that the only Top 20 teams to lose a home game this year are from the SEC?
boost the playoff to 10 teams. Reduce season to 11 regular season games. Force the independents to join a conference if they want to be considered for national championship. If Notre Dame wants to run roughshod in the Sun Belt, so be it. Conference champs only. Include ALL FBS conferences. Non conference games don't mean anything except for being used as seeding in the playoffs. Have teams seeded 7-10 play each other to get the field down to 8, then seeds 1-4 host the second round of playoffs. Visiting teams are not given any tickets. Any opposing team's fans must purchase tickets through scalpers. Once it gets down to 4, reseed and continue like it is now.
