Man I don’t really know how to feel about Phil. Never was a huge fan of his but he always seemed to be a great ambassador for the tour. Read so much on his gambling and whatever he was doing in trying to gain leverage I’m not sure what to believe.
I marshall at the Wells Fargo Tourney and will say the crowds loved the guy. Kind of wondered what kind of reaction he would receive now.
Money on that tour is crazy and it’s not like most of these guys are not loaded but feel the PGA has history and who knows how this tour will end up. Last I had read it wasn’t even on tv?? Anyone know if that is true?

Only on YouTube so far. Hopefully Turk signed for some kind of money. But considering how much they are playing for even if he finished last in all 8 events he should still make over $800k.

Understanding the sponsors are Saudi

I don't get the uproar. Are the sponsors the individuals who personally killed Khashoggi at the Saudi embassy? Seems like the PGA Tour wants it to be that way.
Seems like way too much money to turn down for showing up and playing a few rounds.

I think it’s more about it being a rival tour and the Saudi ties just adds fuel to the fire.
I grew up on watching the PGA and love the history behind the the tourneys and the golf courses so not sure how much I will be interested and I watch golf every weekend.

Not sure, but I believe the prince that ordered the murder is the same one backing the LIV tour, so to answer your question, yes.

time of being competitive on the PGA Tour was drawing to a close anyway. (I have not forgotten that he caught lightning in a bottle at the PGA last year, but that's exactly what it was.)
Right or wrongly, he has set himself up to be the focal point of this Saudi backed group of tournaments. I won't call it a Tour, because with ony eight planned events, and 48 players per event and some sort of "team" concept, it is NOT a Tour.
I don't see how the PGA Tour can allow those players back on Tour now, after their initial stance. Plus, if they are allowed to return, the atmosphere would be "tense" to say the least.
I look at this more as "Greg Norman's Revenge". He has carried on a 30+ year war with the PGA Tour, and is the real driving force behind this whole deal.

the older he gets the more of a goofball he seems. I think he showed extreme gutlessness to not go to tournaments after shooting his mouth off earlier this year

He is still Phil and I am a fan. Good luck Phil. Keep it close to the fairway.

And by the way, I would not bet on him never winning again. He is Phil.
