This would have never happened without Congress passing the dietary supplements act in the 90s/ with FDA impotent to act unless there is a proven danger or misbranding =Thanks again to the Govt/

We have the slowest system to approve new drugs in the western world. Sorry you are dying of cancer and they new drug could help you, but we have to make sure a dose 3 times of what you need taken for 30 years, may increase your chances of dying from the cancer you already have.
Yet for dietary supplements, I'm sure it's fine. Why wouldn't it be.
Better yet, I'm advised not to give our dog food made I china, but my RX's are made in china. SMH.

So is high security technology, like secure laptops. And yet, the chinese were able to install spyware and hardware on them and gather intel on classified govt. projects.

The FDA acts in these cases a lot. Check the 483s

On dietary supplements.
NDIs are required.. problem is there are just too many ways to put stuff in supplements without any 1 knowing. Too many botanicals, too many organic materials.
Any fool can walk by a container of any food during manufacturing, pee in it and you would never know.
A lot of so called experts are posting facts lately but here is the 1 all of you need to know.....
You can't test everything for everything. It is impossible.

Here is where statements like "the letter of the law must be observed" are kind of dangerous.
Yes, doping is bad. But at some point common sense needs to enter into the process. Hopefully it will at the appeal.
Unless Dabo is spinning - which seems unlikely given how transparent he's been about the whole affair, not to mention his general M.O. - it looks like the guys tested positive for trace amounts of the drug. Given that, as well as the ready availability of literature and documentation that this drug is a frequent culprit in false positives due to the commonality of supplement contamination, you've basically got a built-in "reasonable doubt" as to the culpability of the three athletes in question.
In a courtroom, that would be more than good enough. Hopefully the NCAA will act similarly.

Holy smokes. One of those "Chinese Herbal Supplements" contains dexamethasone, AKA decadron.
Someone near and dear to me had his life saved by it, but it is one heck of a drug- a very powerful, very physio- and psychologically active steroid, something no one should have access to without the close guidance of a medical specialist.
I'm learning a lot of pretty disturbing things about supplements and their lack of regulation due to this whole debacle.
