We should let Todd line up against Vic Beasley and we'll see if he thinks Vic's game doesn't have any strength afterward.

I've never seen it done. I also know from experience that trying to block guys of his body type on the interior is a nightmare. He naturally has low pad level due to his height and is built like a tank. Add to that the fact that he is deceptively agile, and he is going to surprise some people in the NFL. Jarrett may not be a first rounder due to the fact that he's not "prototypical", but any team that drafts him will be incredibly lucky when they get a beast that everyone else overlooked.

Stuff on Vic is bad enough but the Grady talk is offensive
Apr 20, 2015, 9:36 AM

|
Jarett has never been blown of the ball or the LOS in the past 3 years. He's gone up against some of the best OL in the country every year and embarrassed them all! OSU, UGA, SC, OK, FSU, UL, BC all had tough OLs with future 1st rounders on them and each and every one of the were forced to double Grady because if you don't he'll ruin the interior of your line.
I guess McShay didn't read the comments coming our of the combine where every OL men agreed that Grady was the hardest guy to block one on one.

Well this explains why McShay plays second fiddle to Kiper on the draft analysis. Sometimes they think way to hard and over analyze this stuff. The only thing that really matters is production. And of course he has great character.

Frankly, neither Kiper nor McShay should have access to a fiddle. If either was worth a hoorah, they'd be plying their trade working for a NFL team...instead of worrying about their make-up in the green room.

let's throw away all the facts & production, throw out all the record breaking statistics... then write an opinion article based on complete utter #####, absolute zero actual evidence or numbers.
Sounds legit to me for E$ecPN standards... what's new? They're elephant-sized düschbags there. This is the norm.
Mattress-hole McShay will be proven wrong in due time

“McShay does not have any good connections,” the source opined. “Higher-ups in the league think he is an arrogant a__ole. A know-it-all. And he really knows nothing. Whatever he says about a quarterback, take it to the bank, it will be the opposite.

McDoosh and Kiper are the worst draft "analysts" on the planet. They're never right. For McShay to put some garbage like this out further proves that. So let me get this straight, ALL the NFL team evaluators love Beasley. ALL the teams with top ten picks have brought him in for a workout. He's been reported as one of the players teams were most likely to trade up for. BUT, McDoosh thinks he is second round talent and all those NFL people are wrong. And ESPN puts that clown on TV.

That S O B says, Yes, his production at Clemson was off the charts. And yes, his workout numbers are rare. I also believe he is a hard worker with good football character... OK with that said, that S O B gives Vic props out one side of his mouth. And out of the other side of his mouth, he acts as if he's talking a player from a FCS school that isn't good enough for a 1st round NFL player.
Then we hear ESECPN saying this about Vic... ( ESPN draft analyst has Beasley listed as the worst ranked edge player ranked with the following players ahead of him: Randy Gregory (#11 overall), Shane Ray (#16 overall), Bud Dupree (#32 overall), Eli Harold (#33 overall) and Hau'Oli Kikaha (#36 overall). However, most of the actual NFL teams in the Top 10 have worked out Beasley so in my opinion, he will more than likely be selected by the middle of the first round. Will McShay's NFL draft grade on Beasley come to fruition on draft day? Or will NFL teams in the Top 10 fight for the chance to get the pass-rushing phenom? )
In the 2014 draft, McShay says this about the Clown.>>> ( McShay says that Jadeveon Clowney goes in the 1st round, 1st pick of the 2014 NFL draft. And he says just a year after that Vic may not be picked in the 1st round. And has him sliding down to the second round. McShay's BS bias for the sec has me wishing he falls off his high SEC horse and breaks his fking neck. It's hard to pisses me off and mad enough to get me wishing bad things on people. But Vic's college career along with the way he performed in the NFL combine, has shown that Vic is the better player to those that aren't sec blinded. Down playing his FB ability just bc he didn't play for an sec team is just wrong.
Clowney's 2014 NFL combine ...................... Vic Beasley 2015 NFL combine
Grade 7.5 ....................................... Grade 6.64 40yd dash- 4.53 ................................. 40yd dash- 4.53 Bench press- 21 reps ............................ Bench press- 35 reps Vertical jump-37.5 .......................... ... Vertical jump- 41.0 Broad jump-124 inches ........................... Broad jump- 130 inches 3 Cone drill- 7.27 ........................... .. 3 Cone drill- 6.91 20 yard shuttle- 4.43 ........................... 20 Yard Shuttle- 4.15
Somebody please explain to me how Vic Beasley can have a better college career than Clowney, then Vic has a better NFL combine than Clowney. And Todd McShay says that Vic Beasley is a middle 1st to 2nd round draft pick. But he said that Clowney was a solid 1st pick in the 1st round 2014 NFL draft. Did McShay "not see" that "Vic Beasley Smoked Clowney's last years Combine numbers." Todd McShay at his best SEC Homerism,>>>>>> (I'm not as high on Beasley as some others are, because I didn't see any power element to his game on tape," McShay writes. "I also have a hard time putting a top-15 type of grade on a defensive front-seven defender that turns down contact and likes to pile-inspect. I'm convinced that no good sec S O B has never watched more than a few minutes of film on Clemson the entire 2014 season!!!) That A$$hole don't have a clue bc he hasn't watched any film on Beasley. And I think that most realizes that by his comments!!!

I think McShay has watched plenty of film and in general I like his thoughts on how players will translate to the NFL. I happen to disagree about Beasley and very much so on Jarrett who I think is going to play wonderfully in the NFL but to be honest I don't really care that much. Beasley and to a lesser extent Jarrett will always be Clemson legends and there is nothing the NFL can do to take that away.

I hear and understand what You are saying, but for him to preach that the Clown was a #1 pick in the 1st round out of one side of his mouth, and Vic being a second round player is just pure chit. Vic beat Clowney at every point of the combine but the one that they tied in, the 40 yd dash. Both ran a 4.53!!! Vic smoked the Clown on everything else. And Vic never missed a game bc his A$$ was hurting....

I can't believe his comments on Jarrett. The guy does shoot the gab well, but I thought one of his greatest strengths was filling a whole and forcing the play outside of the tackels. Me and McShay are black and white when it comes to reviewing talent. Not just wearing the orange glasses, I'm talking when he discusses anyone.

I have one thing to say. McShay is a proven idiot. Clown boy is a good example of his knowledge. Vic Beasley put up better numbers at combine, has worked out and.proven himself to most teams holding top 15 picks. He writes and runs his uninformed mouth and has nothing to back it up. He must have watched different film from what I saw at games and on replays on TV. WHAT A LOSER. GO get a job at local network somewhere doing camera man duties.

Was he actually watching Clemson? Maybe he was watching Parkview HS in Georgia or Anson County in NC. They do have similar uniform colors and Paws. When has Grady Jarrertt not kept his pads down. His leverage is about as good as you will ever see. His wrestling prowess has served him well. Doesn't have the size? Aaron Donald ring a bell. He only took hope a trunk load of awards and he's carbon copy, in size.

It's all about getting attention and promoting their interests. Kiper and McShay have proven to be equally inefficient judges of talent over the years. They have been accurate and wildly inaccurate. Harvard students did a five year analysis back in 2012, which showed you could take Kiper’s “Big Board” or McShay’s Top 25 and ask any random person to put them in any random order, and on average, that person’s rankings will be about as accurate as predicting future NFL success than any of ESPN’s two "experts."
