that he expects there will another transfer or two. I hope one is Heidbrider, but don't need any more transfers after that.

There probably will be. The only person that we have lost that moves the needle is del jones. It was already going to be a heavy portal year, but now we need more portal players.
Last year, we needed a starting guard, a starting C, and 2 back up bigs. That is exactly what brownell got in in the portal.
Right now we need the following, and the list could grow! It could be more depending on what brownell expects out of Ace, Dallas, or the freshman. I really hope Dallas can have productive minutes at the 3.
Starting Combo guard Solid guard for depth Starting C Starting PF Back up big

I'm actually optimistic about Reeves, but a C who can split time with him is definitely needed. Need shooters, so a wing is likely even with Dallas. Could see 6-7 incoming guys.

It is such a balancing act. Bring in a starting wing and that may make dallas unhappy. I like the idea of bringing in multiple big guards that can also play the 3. Also i have never seen dallas play, so this is all speculation.

We need some competition at that spot, definitely a shooter. There's only one starting spot assured and that's Dillon. I just don't see us not trying to reload and just saying we're going to play the unproven younger guys regardless

If Reeves is a starter, he has either significantly improved from this year or we have serious issues.
I'd have rather kept Wiggins than have Reeves starting given his performance.

I think we'd view him as a guy who shares minutes

he has potential. Very athletic, but still developmental. I think we'd plan on 15-20 minutes a game, with some starts. I have no issue with that, he has talent, and should improve. Next year if he can defend and rebound, get some Gimme buckets, that's a good year as a sophomore

bat 1.000 in the portal this time around to give us any kind of chance of making another NCAAT appearance. Not much room for error here. With so little reliance on our in house development apparatus I guess starting from scratch each season is our new normal.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was Dillon Hunter. His brother is gone, his good friend Chauncey is gone. Apart of a "close knit" group of the last couple years that is all gone but him.
Of course, I hope I'm wrong. But announcements of players going into the portal and deciding where they will go will continue for four more weeks.

I think Dillon really loves playing for Coach Brownell. He could be a huge leader next season. I think he stays.

I watched the radio show when Dillon was the guest..he also indicated that to the media one time, and just indicated he is coming back.

Whoever Brownell loses, or gains, will not make a difference.
He will always be a good coach, but he'll never be great.

Stop it he is not a good coach . A good coach can motivate , scheme , and beat mid major less talented teams . He does neither and 15 years results show this !

He's good at getting players from the portal.
He's good at losing players to the portal.
He's good at underachieving when it matters.
He's good at losing to teams with "State" in their names.
He's good at settling.
He's good at...I don't know...probably a few other things.
Most Clemson fns are fine with fine.
I'm not.

It's becoming a numbers issue

Sort this for minutes played per game and look at what's left remaining.
https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/clemson/men/2025.html
8 of the top 11 guys (essentially everyone that was relevant) are gone. If Heidbreder also transfers out we likely only return Dillon Hunter (22mpg) and Reeves (5mpg).
We have two guys (Thomas and Buckner) coming off redshirts, and 3 more coming in this recruiting class. Most of Brownell's guys take a long time to develop so i don't know how much we can't count on getting from any of them next year, but i guess we will see.
At any rate, Brownell probably needs to go get 4 quality starters out of the portal (and maybe some depth as well) if we want to be competitive next year.

Reality is he could find 5 intramural players that could score 13 points in a half, so what does it matter who he brings in or who we lose. This is and has always been Clemson basketball, I am an Alumni and could care less about basketball because if I constantly signed up for being disappointed over and over again I would have chosen the coots.
