We've all heard the rumors or maybe Louisville or Cincinnati joining the ACC. I really think Swofford will add one or both of them because of their relative success in football and basketball, and I do think these schools offer more than a Wake Forest, Duke, Boston College and maybe even Maryland when it comes to football. However, I don't see how it helps the perception of the ACC. Would our strength of schedule go up? Have they done well with out of conference wins over the SEC or Big 12?
No, it will not help the perception of the conference because they arent "brand names" w a long, historical tradition. Atleast we will be adding teams that are better than many of the ACC teams in place though. As far as OOC wins, they havent done much either. Cincinatti got blown out by Florida in the Sugar Bowl in 09, but knocked off mighty Vandy last year in the Liberty Bowl.. Lville hasnt played an SEC or BIG12 team for as long as I can remember.
