Don’t be surprised if he does indeed take a Portal QB this go around. He said he would use a portal player if it looked promising and there is a need.

He is a grad transfer which administratively, has to be processed through the portal, but it isn't really a portal player per se. Same thing when we brought back Hunter Johnson.

Cam Ward was a grad transfer. He already has a degree from Washington State.

Don't disagree. DJ was the same with his Clemson degree. Just saying that all grad transfers go through the portal administratively but they don't apply the same way to the portal as an undergrad.

Just to provide further clarification, grad students used to be able to transfer any time throughout the year if they had their degree which was different than the rules for undergrad transfers. However, the courts intervened in April and now grad transfers do have to transfer within the portal "windows" just like undergrads.

Then you could say DJU wasn't a portal player either... he already had a degree when he left for Or St. That would mean over half of our "portal loses" aren't really b/c the players already had a degree.
Did Mukuba already graduate?

Cade has another year and Dabo has made commitments to the guys coming up behind him. I'd be pleasantly shocked if he grabbed one out of the portal.

I don’t imagine everybody sitting behind. Cade will still be here within the next two years.
Especially if Cade continues to under Perform but still gets the starting slot against people who feel like they could do a better job

He played a year at my daughter's HS before transferring to one of the top programs in the state. The only thing that held him back from bigger offers was his height. I saw him play several times in HS and he was a stud. Pretty good punter too...
