have they actually done anything? I feel like they took the paycheck that came with leaving the ACC, but have been an absolute dud ever since. I can't recall them being showcased even once on TV in a big game. Have I missed anything or am I accurate? Any sport.

Maryland is 4-0 after beating Wisconsin Saturday.
Mostly mid but have consistently been going to bowl games and winning them lately.

They’ve been about equal as they were in the ACC
If you are below 50 years old, it’s tough to remember when Maryland was above average.
They were in dire need of money when they left the ACC , so I’d imagine the Big Ten has at least gotten them to a point to where they are breaking even possibly

Field House were a lot of fun in the 70s. Took all day & night to get there, but we didn't care. What a great atmosphere. Lefty, John Lucas, Albert King, they had some really badazz teams. Football was often ranked pretty high too.

Yep … Maryland was competitive with Boomer in football. He could really zing it. Enjoyed watching the lefthander go against Tobacco Road. Remember the day Len Bias died as well.

I have a friend who said their HS graduation was in Cole Field HOuse. It was the largest hoops arena for a time I believe. I akso think some final fours were thre years ago.

Maryland and Wake were the only ACC schools that sided with

Clemson in the 1950's bugaboo (just before the ACC was formed) and in the early 80's, when the ACC thought it a good idea to impose that nefarious extra-year penalty against us.
The early 50's mess was an attempt to keep any program from playing in bowl games, and Clemson and Maryland sided with each other by accepting bowl bids. Most all of us know the story about the 80's penalty against us. I remain convinced to this day that Maryland and Wake received behind-the-scenes major threats to side with the rest of the members prior to the second meeting on the extra penalty that caused them to go along, albeit reluctantly, with the mob. (I also firmly believe that the AD's at UNC and Duke were the culprits instigating that b.s., despite denials otherwise. At the time and even now, I refuse to believe that a bunch of faculty reps decided by themselves that the extra penalty was a good idea.)
I travelled with the team twice to Maryland, while on the Cheerleading Squad, having a big time during both trips. Some Maryland kids took several of us into DC for a big time, and the fans actually were very cordial. I have a good many kinfolk there, and most all have considered themselves Southerners, although the state sided with the Union during the (ahem) War of Dastardly Agression by the Nefarious North against the Glorious Southland...which some call the Civil War.

I mean they have been the same average team since they left but with more money. Sounds like a win in my book.
