Clemson men's basketball fell two spots in ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi's estimation to the first in the 'Next Four Out' of the NCAA Tournament.

Clemson dropped two spots in the NET rankings as well (62) with a 4-3 mark against Q1 teams, 8-2 versus Q4, No. 103 strength of schedule and No. 335 non-conference strength of schedule.

Obviously they did not, or we would have been given a boost.

They would also need to add in the subpar facilities and low coach's pay. Beating ND at home is not going to raise Clemson's NET ranking.

Stupid cooters had to mess us up by playing Bama so close and a couple more respectable losses or we'd be closer to 350. We would have been in the top bottom 10.
SB Nation acc podcast said yesterday that they still expect unc and Clemson to find a way in... not sure why because that'd put 7 in from the acc. No one else is predicting 7 teams. 5 maybe 6, but not 7. So anyway, there's that.

They probably believe they’ll put UNC in almost no matter what and that UNC will finish 2 places behind Clemson and they won’t make that big of a skip.

we'd be in the tourney.....that's how it works doesn't it? You just have to play a really hard schedule and the losses count as wins?
The whole system is a bit dumb but at the end of the day we just haven't when it mattered. The last 10 we are 5-5 with two terrible losses to BC and Louisville. And missed quality win opportunities to Miami, UNC and UVA.

It’s not really how it works. We’d be safely in without our 4 really bad losses. Quad 1 wins. Quad 3/4 losses. Those are what are “incredibly important” per the NCAA. But we can also pretend we don’t understand how it actually works. Brad certainly has no problem with that strategy.

I get that you hate the system. Unfortunately NET isn’t the boogey man you’re trying to make it out to be. RPI, the old system, has us lower than any team they’ve ever let in. Sagarin says we stink. KenPom says we stink. Go look at the Massey composite index - 60 different ranking methodologies. Not one of them is valid? Only your eye test matters. We lost to 4 very bad teams. It is the equivalent of the football team dropping an FCS game and trying to argue “we had injuries” or “early games shouldn’t count as much”. And yes, if those 4 bad losses were replaced by 4 quad 1 losses we would be safely in the tourney right now. Brad has been here 13 years. He’s been coaching 3 decades. Despite his protestations, he knows exactly how the tourney works. If he wants to schedule garbage teams, you have to win. This isn’t unique to this season. This has been a constant of his tenure. Way more so than the late season slide myth.

there are more than a few bubble teams with a slew of quad 1 losses and it just bolsters their SOS and they end up with the benefit of the doubt. I know there is more to it than that, but its annoying argument to hear.

Has nothing to do with losing to good teams. Can't lose to SCAR, Louisville, Loyola, and BC and expect to have a good rating.

Do they also isolate conf only sos? Overall schedule should be all that is taken into consideration for all teams sake
