Enough with all the Dabo, God talk

Dec 23, 2022, 10:04 AM

Do you really think Dabo cares about a person's religion?? He's stated many times that his primary concern is their CHARACTER not their religion. People of any religion or even no religion can still be people of character and integrity. You think that every player and staff member on his staff is an evangelical Christian?? Dabo tries to recruit the best players with the best character. He doesn't shove his beliefs on people and he surely doesn't ask them about their religion. Him stating that he built the program on Godly principles doesn't mean that everyone has to be a Christian. It just means that THAT is his core and his foundation, and he's the coach, so that's how he builds the program. It does not mean that he discriminates in any way, and it's proven that he doesn't. You don't have to be of the same religion to respect the foundation that his beliefs give the program. He's shown how he translates those beliefs into coaching, and there's nothing questionable or controversial about how all of that has been manifest in the program.

I'll tell you this - very few parents would hear those comments of his and say they would never want their kids playing for him. Quite the opposite. I think his beliefs have been a big part of landing many big recruits, including Trevor, DJ and Cade, and many, many others.

Big news flash for 2022 - you don't have to agree with someone to respect them.

I know he doesn't care about their religion but I believe he does care about their souls. Regardless, the bottom line is that he cares about them as people and only wants what is best for them and he believes he can provide the environment to help them become their very best and realize their full potential.

Agreed - he cares about them as people, individuals

He cares for all of them just the same - regardless of where or if they go to church.

Agree, that is why I said he doesn't care about their religion but I believe he does care about what happens to them in this life and the next. It is not about religion, it is about a relationship and I think that is what he focuses on when he is giving them life lessons.

It’s called walking the walk! The criticism and ridicule is part of the life that comes with it and I am glad he stays strong. Great to watch what God has done through him.

Let’s check see how this position on college football changes works out in a few years.

I’m tired.
