are key next season. Our issues at RB were clearly demonstrated Sat night.

With a new QB and a good chunk of our D returning a good running game will do wonders.

I like Hot Rod, but he does that dancing around in the backfield too much. Hit the hole and get what you can; don't dance around and lose ten.

Hot Rod has ran the ball very well. Don't pick out one mistake and act like he's done that all year.

Good grief

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's "has run" and no he hasn't.

He has RAN the F'N ball just fine

Not his fault we lost and not his fault the back up got hurt

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

LOL. He has not run the ball well.

Oct 21, 2013, 11:22 AM

It was as much his fault we lost as anybody else's. He did not play well. He has not done much of anything since the Georgia game.

It's not his fault the backup got hurt, but the coaches always seemed to hedge their bets in their comments on Hot Rod in the preseason. Now we know why.

Hot Rod is not the type back that will be effective against the defense we played... Sorry just stating a fact...great kid, love him. BUT

Check the lsu game??? How about UGA ????

You think the line might has anything to do with it??

H3ll Spiller couldn't ran the ball sat. night

Love how some of our so-called fans act like coots or spurrier and throw our players under the bus when things go bad

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Are you throwing our offensive line under the bus?

Oct 21, 2013, 11:26 AM

The line didn't play well, but neither did our running backs.

We just aren't very talented at running back this year.

More fallout from the recruitment of Mike Bellamy.

Oct 21, 2013, 11:09 AM

In hindsight, his recruitment probably cost us one of Gurley and Marshall and contributed to the dearth of talented running backs we have right now. Throw in the injury to Dye, who the coaches were salivating about in the preseason, and here we sit, wishing we had a running back to balance our offense and take pressure off Boyd and the passing game.

Wish we hadn't dropped Marlon Lane***

Oct 21, 2013, 11:13 AM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He's no better than our current stable of backs.

Oct 21, 2013, 11:16 AM

We need a couple of difference makers.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He'd be our 1 or 2 guy this year

Oct 21, 2013, 11:18 AM

Not a difference maker but he'd make our backfield better.

How is that it was the same class? Mike was gone

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He was still on the team at signing day***

Our running game wasn't that bad

Oct 21, 2013, 11:29 AM

Saturday night. Not sure what you guys are talking about.

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It really wasn't

Oct 21, 2013, 11:31 AM

but it hasn't been great all year. I honestly would've preferred if we'd tried to run up the middle more than we did.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Our running game did OK once we the game was over.

Oct 21, 2013, 11:35 AM [ in reply to Our running game wasn't that bad ]

Once the game got to the point where there wasn't enough to time to run the ball and win.

In the first half we could not run the ball. First down run production for us was nill, while they were able to get good yardage with their running game on first downs.

U R on a roll this morning. Gurley signed with Georgia Feb.

Oct 21, 2013, 11:31 AM [ in reply to Re: More fallout from the recruitment of Mike Bellamy. ]

2012. Bellamy was kicked of the team in May of that year. Had Bellamy not been on the team Gurley's senior year, and in January and February of 2012, Gurley may have come to Clemson knowing he wouldn't have to compete with Ellington AND Bellamy.

I vote for Raymond Priester !!***

Oct 21, 2013, 11:39 AM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Hot Rod is averaging 5 yards per carry.

Oct 21, 2013, 11:39 AM

That's not as bad as some of you are making it seem he has played so far this season.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

and 63 yards per game.

Oct 21, 2013, 11:46 AM

Respectable numbers if you're just looking at the stat line.

If you dig deeper, you see that he doesn't run through tackles and, with a long run of 39 yards during his career, he doesn't have the break away speed either. Defense's have no fear of him breaking a long run if they focus on TB and Sammy. Our running game is not a threat.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Looking forward to seeing them play***
