Dummies calling for the backup(s) QB

There’s a reason the saying is they’re the most liked person on a football team.
How can we judge Cade performance when the only drives we sustained in the first half were cut short by penalties by WR (2 on Randall) and OL (a False Start)?
Cade has got to be better, but you can clearly see improvement from him versus last year.
It’s a team sport for a reason and some of y’all need to learn to not make your entire personality Wins and Losses of 18 to 23 year olds and crying about every little darn thing.
Clemson used to be one of the more intelligent football fan bases, now let’s act like that again

He kept his head down the field and could direct traffic on that scramble to Brinningstool, and felt the pressure and delivered the strike to AW0 down the field

On the scramble to Briningstool he missed a wide open receiver on the left flat, immediate first down and more, without having to leave the pocket. Just a lot of misses all around

He does look better, but it's marginal.
I've seen less happy feet and that's an improvement.
The OL was better but he also used them better.
I don't think he's seeing the entire field or working through all his progressions.
For a guy who was supposed to be a running QB, he doesn't look good running and we've had no gains on busted plays. Hopefully that changes when we aren't playing UGA.
Much as I hate UGA, I hope they are REALLY good.

That QB room is thin on numbers and talent...
If I'm not mistaken, CV is the only one besides Cade that we offered a scholarship to coming out of HS.
Our QB evaluations since Trevor have been garbage. Granted, we've missed on most of the guys we really wanted.
Maybe DJ Lagway will be available again in a few weeks, and Dabo will see the wisdom in using the portal to get a potential starter and not just "depth" at QB.

More people are accepting the fact that Cade isn't an elite QB

and likely never will be.
Calling for the backup is silly though, as we have zero evidence that any of our backups are as talented or as capable as Cade.
Yes, I know Dabo said that he loves all of our QBs and we can win with any of them, but if any of those guys were better than Cade I think we would have seen more of them - especially when it was clear in the fourth quarter that we weren't going to make a comeback. But Dabo didn't play any of them, and that speaks volumes.
Cade is the best QB we have, and that falls directly on the shoulders of our coaches who recruit and develop these QBs.

And we have had one dud (DJ), and I really want to believe the jury is still out on Cade (sample size with compent receivers and OLine is like 0.5 games)
Need to open up the QB room more with recruiting more than 1 guy a cycle (the bubba chandler cycle was a huge factor in where we are at right now)

Pearman was better than Klub foot in the spring game Pearman should start against App State. I mean Clemson can beat App State with 4th string players

It looks like Cade is almost shy. Garrett doesn’t want to screw up . Man cut it loose. Dial it up. Garrett can call Plays and Cade can execute. Just be who you are. How many times has Dabo referenced the flower growing in the stadium steps. Bloom where you are planted. You don’t have to be reckless to be great, but sometimes you gotta be on that edge. Clemson has guys that can play, lift the restrictions and let’s get it going. Go Tigers

Our back up quarterbacks are worse than your starter. The answer does not lie there.

It's all Cade can do. Dabo is done because he can't make a simple QB decision. What a fool!

The intelligent ones are the ones that recognize cade sucks. Do you wanna talk about missed opportunities? The first play of the game was absolutely trash….. when we had a FREE PLAY he ran for 5 yards instead of throwing to a wide-open tight end over the middle for the first down… Cade sucks and Clemson football needs to move on from him

I think its more the sample set that we've seen.

The offense seems like its going to be a carbon copy of last years offense in terms of numbers and output. Last year, no rhytym or identity. I expect probably the same this year. Its tough to say that after playing UGA i know, but you can kinda still see the way we struggle to eek out yards on offense.
Its hard for this team to move the ball.. for the last 3 years. Without a one handed catch by Brinny and a diving catch by Antonio..we didn't do anything of note. We just don't pose a threat to anyone. They have our film we are going to do the same thing as last year it seems and no playmaker really is going to consistently hit you.
I think we gotta get our minds right, as fans, to expect that low kind of output every week again. There is no 300 yards and 3 TD Qb on this team. Its 175 yards passing, 1 Td, 1 pick. We'll be in that 13-24 pt max scoring output and hope the defense holds it for us. Need the kicker to make alot of kicks, he seemed competent in the one opportunity he had.
And then just try to ignore the fact that you have BC and GT running their offenses at ease, without the herky jerky, start/stop, stuff that we get to watch.
