i've posted many criticism of dabo this year, and his slowness to adapt to the next wave of college football.
but that type of comment about how dabo tripped into 6 playoff appearances and a few titles isn't true, nick saban is not a good offensive coach either especially with qb's, here is the same logic applied to nick saban:
"if nick saban didn't have kirby smart and lane kiffen and sark as assistents and a bunch of 5 star players he;s not really that good of a coach"
but the truth is recruiting and hiring good assistants is a talent, dabo did it very well for a decade, but he started thinking everything he touched was gold, instead of taking a more grindstone approach and it has cost clemson.

Dabo quit doing what made Dabo and every other successful program successful. I don’t fault him for believing in a fairy tale, I fault him for keeping on trying once it’s been proven to be a disaster.

and doesn't know a dammmm thing about leadership.
Dwight Eisenhower was never considered a good field general; he was superb as a theater leader due to his ability to choose excellent subordinate commanders.
Dabo has displayed some of the same abilities as Ike for the most part of his tenure. Now, I believe he has made some unwise choices, possibly including overt micromanagement of choices right down through the ranks. He will have to consider the season's results and evaluate those choices in a hurry. Hopefully, his own ego will not enter into those decisions, for I recall the ancient adage: pride goeth before the fall.
One other important point: any leader has to be wary and protect his success lest he becomes a victim of that success. Dabo has created a monster program; the Clemson faithful, accordingly, expect and will demand success. AND it's up to Dabo to continue to deliver! I'm willing to give him the time to do so.

That 1 beatdown is ancient history. Has Bama lost to a "Duke, NCSU, or UM type team in the same time frame? They keep rolling along because their CEO knows how to hire and fire. No buddies, no former players masquerading as coaches and no endless scholarships to friends of the program. If you're a CEO - run it as the billion dollar business that someone alluded to above.

on their own to be a part of Clemson Football. It's kind of weird though how they all picked Clemson. I wonder why? I know Dabo must have been excited when they all just randomly walked up to his office door over the years and knocked.
"Hey there, Dabo. I would like to go to Clemson and play football." (Direct quote from countless elite talents and coaches.)
"Well, golly-gee, sure, you can play football here. Thanks for choosing us. Now, go tell any friends or family members that are good that we have a spot for them too."
The above scenario started taking place around 2010 and continued until 2021. Because there was such a high volume of randoms choosing Clemson they actually propelled the program to 6 consecutive CFPs and a couple of national championships.

This is what most educated people have known about Dabo. He picked excellent talent for the coaching positions early on is his career as HC. Somewhere along the line he either ran out of luck or more likely his ego took over and thought he was the main reason for all our wins and he could put anyone in those coaching positions and get the same results.

I would not say Dabo is not a good coach. He has never been a great X’s and O’s coach. What he is a great leader, recruitier and CEO. Allot like Mac Brown.
With this said it is imperative to hire good experienced coaches.
Note: Tony and Jeff grew up under Dabo. So the podcaster completely leaves this out I assume.
