Driving thru Conway

Anybody know what the traffic is like driving thru Conway Wednesday and Saturday afternoons. Next week traveling from Concord NC to Litchfield Beach Resort and one possible route mapquest gives goes thru Conway. Previously avoided Conway and Hwy 501 to 17, but thought I might give it a try. Traffic on 501 near MB usually is slow moving. Haven't been thru Conway since the mid 60s.

501 to 544 to 17 is your best bet. 501 is a gamble anytime and 544 and 17 intersection is bad at times but it's still quicker than any other route.

Take 22 to 31 and then south to 544. Longer route but far less stress.

Thanks for the suggestions. Will check them out on the map. Would be nice if we could have our golf outing in late Sept, but there would be too many conflicts with football games, mostly CU's.

i decided to go through Lake City to Georgetown and up. No traffic problems at all just back roads that can be tricky and little cell phone reception.

I live in Lake City SC and over the past several years people form out of state have found the secret to avoiding traffic to the southern beaches(Surfside,Garden City ,Litchfield, PI,etc.) Take I-77 to I-20 and head east. Take exit 120 at Bishopville(Hwy 403) and stay on 403 to Lake City. Go through town and using a gps go to Indiantown and bear right just past the Presbyterian church and once at Hwy 41 take a right to Mingo Exxon(Hwy 51 I believe) where you will take a left to Georgetown. Once in Georgetown take US-17 to Litchfiels. Very little traffic on this route and about 3.5 hours from Charlotte. Hope this helps....Jaybird

Berlin, Actually exit 120 on I-20 is HWY 341, but just about 1 mile over I-95 you will bear left slightly to get on 403 into Lake City(341 takes you to Olanta and then to Lake City-5 minutes longer). Do a google search for Bishopville sc to Georgetown sc and take the blue route through Lake City(where US 52 and US 378 intersect). This route is a straight shot. Please slow down in Lynchburg and Lake City... Jaybird
