I'm beginning to believe ND to the ACC is a strong

possibility. I don't know if it will be full membership or just non football sports with a football scheduling agreement. But it seems something is going on.
A couple of days ago in a live broadcast VaT's AD hinted to ACC expansion in the near future and indicated it may include ND.
Then yesterday I received my Orange magazine in the mail. On the inside back page there was a VERY interesting article about ND and the ACC, written by the CLemson SID, who happens to be a ND grad.
Are these just individuals talking or is there an effort to leak news to prepare everyone for what's coming?

Hope not. See link to Rick Reilly's article in the post below yours.
He sums up what a lot of us have been saying for years.
Don't know why Notre Dame gets the love and money from NBC they do.

I personally would love to see ND have to swallow it's pride and join a conference. Their fan base collectively love the smell of their own farts, so it'd be nice to see them taken down a peg or 2.

To a very large degree, it's about eyeballs on the TV and butts in the seats. ND can still deliver both of those even if it doesn't deliver wins on the field.
Do you think that Miami might actually fill up their stadium if ND came to town? How many ACC games have we seen with a 30-40% capacity crowd? How about UVa? We might even get a decent TV audience for ND vs Duke in football. The ND people would tune in because they think they might actually see their team win a game.

I don't think it is an effort to leak news but I do think the talks are as strong as ever currently. It seemed like after the ACC announced the Orange Bowl contract they wanted to quickly announce a partner. Then just as it seemed ND was the #1 option things cooled quickly.
TCI has been reporting for some time that talks between ND and the ACC about expansion are very real. I think when the ACC started to determine NDs involvement they realized it would be detrimental to their plans to bring them to the conference in the future. I don't know what the end result will be but I do think ND is still a major point of conversation.

At least that's what Tnet told me all summer (Also that Clemson and FSU were "done deals" to the B12 with VT/GT/Miami bailing the "sinking ship" that once was the ACC).
I think that it has been pretty clear that if ND was to join a conference, it would be the ACC. Will that actually happen? Who knows.

that one of the main reasons why the talk of a move to the Big 12 stalled was because Swofford was able to convince certain schools that a move to the ACC by Notre Dame as either a partial or full member was a very real possibility.

Surely it has to be a full membership, right? Maybe it's just me, but i see 0 value in adding ND sans football.

to add all sports but football immediately with the understanding that football would follow in 2015 or 2016. In the meantime, Notre Dame would agree to schedule at least four opponents from the ACC in football each year on a rotating home and away basis.

My guess is that it's only ND non-football in the ACC and some sort of football scheduling arrangement. I might be all alone on this but, I find that less than satisfying.

All in or not in at all. None of this "partial member" junk.

We don't need to be the latest home for ND's non-football programs. No interest. They are either all in or nothing. They don't get to pretend to be part of the ACC's proud basketball tradition while NOT bolstering our football tradition.
This is the bravado of a man with no accountability (me), but if I were Swofford and we were expanding to 16 teams, I'd call ND and tell them that they are by far our first choice and that they have one week to call him back to say yes or no to full membership, but that no other counter-proposal was going to be considered. After a week, if I didn't hear from them, I wouldn't even follow-up. I'd call Rutgers and UConn and get it done.
