So we adopted the 5 year old female basset hound yesterday. By state law there is a 5 day hold before we can pick her up. So we will officially be picking her up next week.
Her story: She was abandoned in November. When they received her she was malnourished. Her ribs and backbone were showing. It is obvious she has not been shown any love. She appeared physically and emotionally abused.
The wife and I are excited to get her home and begin spoiling her. The wife has named her Sadie.

They explained the 5 day hold was so they could administer shots to the dog, also so they can spay the dog and allow their vet to do another thorough examination of the dog before pick-up.
Seems like that all could be done in a day or two but it is what it is.
