How do you keep a guy like that off the field? I know I couldn't run a 4.8 forty.

He made a stupid comment, but he's more than earned some wiggle room.
He's done a lot more good than harm to Clemson. We should keep our comments in line with that fact.

Yep I love the guy but he doesnt. No at CU'S expense. Was real disappointed he did that. Seemed most uncharacteristic of him.

I don't think he has the size or speed. I think he wants to keep his name out there. He is going to speak and promote the movie and book. So pub is good

I take it that you served in a combat situation. If you did, you have a point in your comment. If not, not so much.

He sustained injuries, witnessed his friends die and still returned fire from an exposed position against a vastly superior enemy force.
Are you really going to stoop that low to challenge his war record?

Nope, not questioning his bronze star. "Hero" is the only thing I questioned. My dad received a SIlver Star for Courage, saving 11 of men that had been wounded in a cross fire. Got hit a couple of times himself during that exchange. Im just trying downplay "war hero". He served his country. I served mine. Did you serve yours?

"It was kind of unfortunate; I wanted to get more playing time at Clemson. I felt that I was good enough to play," Rodriguez said. "But I wasn't on scholarship; the reality is they're going to play the people they're invested in. In the NFL, they're going to play the best. It's not as political as it is in college."
That's all he said. It was a stupid thing to say and it caused some of people to turn on him.
But there is a difference between recognizing a comment was stupid and judging a person's character. Especially considering all the things DRod has said and done before that regrettable quote.

the actual meaning has been watered down due to this.
But I do think what he did was heroic and have no qualms with him being called a hero.
However, I haven't served and I don't have any firsthand knowledge of anything "over there" so I could be wrong.

to attend Clemson on the GI Bill, not a starting position on the Football team. I always thought it was an Idiotic statement. Anyone with a brain knows that had he been starting material , he would have been starting every single game. Imagine the publicity that would have garnered ?

I'm 45 almost 46 and I ran a hand timed 5 Flat 40 on Monday night ...says my trainer.
I am also prone to lying. I didn't run a 40 .
There's no trainer.

What is the big deal of running 40 feet real fast?
Mar 6, 2015, 8:36 AM
[ in reply to Instead of a Tiger pulse, I think we all need 40 times ] |

I do that everyday in between commercials of the game... 40 ft to bathroom 40 ft to fridge 40 ft to let dog out
I probably run about a 4.45 when I am really "hurrying", aka trying. So I am like a 4 or 5 star guy.
