Tom Walter was caught allegedly calling a Tennessee player a homophobic slur on live tv. He has since apologized. Cursing is one thing but going as far as using a homophobic slur is crossing the line for me. Like why is that word even in your vocabulary? What do you guys think?
Here’s the video of him saying the slur….

He called him a f#gg#t. The anti gay slur. I don’t want to say the word or else I’d get banned but I think you should get what word I’m saying.

Here’s a link to an article about his apology… He said that that “language doesn't reflect my values or the standards of this program.". If that is true then why did you “subconsciously” say that word? If you said it with out meaning too then it means you’re used to using that slur. I will never understand people using that anti gay slur regardless if they support gay rights or not.

WF is a private school so it might as well be Woke Forest in reality. He'll be extremely lucky if he keeps his job. I don't think he should lose his job over this but that is something you should just never say unless it's a karaoke song by Mark Knoffler.

Granted it doesn’t mean he was right to say that exactly, but I’ve heard a lot worse out of the mouths of solid men and people.
I’m sure there were some words exchanged earlier. It was wrong, he apologized, and everyone can go forward now. No need to try and milk it for more than it’s worth.

It didn’t have anything to do with homosexuality, it was slang for teenagers sometimes it was said as serious but most of the time they were joking.
I’m sure he was just pissed because they were going to lose but didn’t really think about his sexuality.
Apologies, but not fired, let’s forgive him and go on.

well , June is their whole month, so perhaps he was wishing him Happy Pride Month and couldn’t remember all the LGTRQST abbreviations.
Funny how oblivious people are to things said on a ball field . And since when did that word become unspeakable. I think it’s in their Pride month anthem

Mexico's slang is much more spiritually accurate
1

In Mexico "cuarenta y uno" (41) is slang referring to a homosexual.
Job chapter 41 is leviathan (Satan) chapter. The #41 is regularly linked to Satan, devils & all kinds of evil in the Bible, whether it be chapter #s, verse #'s, word counts, etc. And leviathan is king of the children of "pride". So yea, Mexico's slang is much less offensive & much more accurate.
Job 41:34 King James Version 34 He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.

It's in the English language. The left wing cancel culture doesn't want it to be mentioned. They've got to control what you say and how you think. It's almost fighting words since it is a bad thing and no one wants to be one. It was really funny because two pitches later Fischer hit it out of the park.

The liberals want you to not say that word. Act as if it is wrong to say it instead of wrong to be one. That way the younger, X-Box generation, can be brain washed and accept that lifestyle. That's the underlying reason they want an uproar and tell you it is wrong to say 'that word'. Oh my goodness!! He said a word from the English language!! It's not a word it's a slur! LOL!!

So just to recap your argument: you're mad that people don't want you to yell slurs, because somehow that secretly tricks kids into not hating gay people? Wild conspiracy, my dude. If the only thing standing between someone and a deep fear of rainbow flags is a six-letter insult from the '90s, maybe your whole worldview needs sturdier legs.
Also, language evolves. "Slur" isn't a magical censorship label—it just means you're using a word specifically to dehumanize someone. If your freedom of speech depends on punching down, maybe it’s less about freedom and more about you needing to feel superior to someone. That’s not rebellion. That’s just sad.

Along with 213 other horrible words and phrases, some of which I'm convinced he invented.
But he probably said the dreaded "f" word 13,400 times, at least. Guy couldn't string two sentences together without cussing.

Not condoning nor condemning, but I think this raises an issue I've wondered about for a while...
Why are people more sensitive to things referencing their race or sexuality, but calling someone a fat*ss if they're fat, or a f-ing idiot if they're not smart is acceptable. Aren't those attacks just as personal as anything else? I think logically they're all the same, but we've been raised in a culture where some offenses are just words, and others we have to meltdown over.
