Does winning really matter more than being a part of Clemson

and what a Tiger represents?

I'm not a college graduate. Thankfully, through the exercise of boot strap pulling, hard work and lessons learned through my elders, my children will be. And they will graduate from Clemson. I was the superintendent on the West Endzone Phase III build out and worked on multiple projects across campus: Patterson Hall, the Baseball Field Geo Grid, Scroll of Honors, Starbucks and the Aquatic Center Upfit.

Despite that, I've always been an outsider looking in, when it comes to being alumni or a good ole' boy. Yet, when my Dad gave me a choice of wearing a shirt at the age of four, that said, "I love #####" versus, "I love Tigers", well, naturally, I've been a Clemson fan ever since and married the hottest woman that would have me.

I've seen harrowing times. (Insert previous coaches prior to Dabo here.) I've witnessed National Championship trophy's raised. Coach Ford held the same esteem as Moses in my household when I was growing up. Fast-forward and my parents now believe that Dabo walks on water. Both of those perspectives are flawed.

What's not flawed is being a Clemson fan. It never will be. Since 1889 little ole' Clemson has been among the Nation's best. How many sacrificed their lives during war times? How many civil servants were birthed from the Valley?

I will argue that no collegiate institution has more serviceable accolades in such a wide menagerie than lil' ole' Clemson University. Have you ever visited the Scroll of Honors? If not, do so, and take your kids.

We get so lost in the week-to-week that the grand scheme of things becomes cloudy. Clouds look like a 4 and 4 team with an 11 million dollar coach. The forecast is always partial cloudy, with a chance of rain though. But don't be discouraged, pull out an Almanac. Check the history of the most diversely profound University in America - the history, the service, the academics, the national championship trophies. There's only one - and it's spelled

The best is still yet to come...don't be a Debbie Downer or a loser. They never inspire anything.

An excellent post. And Clemson has a lot to be proud of. Nikki Haley is really the only black mark.
