Phil Kortblut. Seems this all-world DE recruit was "miss-classified". (Think this is code for he will save their program)
It didn't take long for the college recruiters to jump all over DE Tega Wanogho Jr. (6-8 250) of Elmore, AL when he decided to reclassify from 2016 to 2015. According to his coach Bobby Carr, nearly 30 schools have been in touch including USC and Clemson with the Gamecocks making a particularly strong push to get him on campus for an official visit this month.

If he's in a hurry to get out of high school, I wonder if playing in the fall and gray shirting at his school of choice appeals to him rather than reclassifying and graduating this Spring. I hate it when kids are in such a hurry to move to the next stage, they don't enjoy where they are or even make the best choices for their own development.
From a football perspective, how much better will he be as a true freshman in college if he gets another year in high school and then goes through spring practice before the Fall. He could redshirt and get a year on the scout team, then go through spring practice, but if he gray shirts, he essentially gets another year of eligibility.
Kids are universally grateful for another year in college, with the limited exception of the few who make it to the NFL and even some of them want another year in college. The NFL slam dunks are a very small group, maybe 20-30 kids a year. Probably 3-4 times that many make it in the league in any given year, but the other 80-100 kids need all the time available to get themselves ready to play against grown men who were themselves stars at every level along the way.
