Does Huggins actually make Clemson better

In passing situations than with Lawrence? Lawrence is a rock against the run and a good pass rusher, but does Huggins speed and background as a DE actually give us 4 speedrushers on passing downs??

Lawrence helps push the pocket back, enabling the DEs to go wide without losing containment. So unfortunately, it isn’t a silver lining. But I do think Huggy Bear will fill in great.

No. Lawrence’s best attribute is that he demands a double team which frees up everyone else.

I think you're selling Dex short on his pass rushing ability. If Huggins gets double teams the same way Dex routinely does I don't think he will be as productive. If they double team CW42 instead, it's possible Huggins will have better stats, but it will be at the expense of Wilkins.


I'm very happy to have a replacement as good as Huggins, but there's just no way to spin this as a positive in any situation.
