Looks like he'll be exercising a Covid year so should be back for one more ride.

He can comeback 1 more if he chooses, he has the the potential to be a 1st-2nd rd pick if he can stay healthy a full season.

TNet has another poster who put a good bit of work into identifying how the extra COVID year works.

First, his summary: Walker Parks and Capehart both came in the 2020 recruiting class, yet Parks is clearly eligible for another year in 2025, whereas Capehart will need to get a special waiver if he’s going to have the choice of playing next year.

Both get the COVID extra year. Parks, however, had one other year in which he played only four games and thus was classified as a RS first that year (2023). Capehart almost had that RS season except for the fact that he played in 5 games (albeit in total just a trivial number of snaps).

Next year, Parks will be a fifth year senior (one of those years being a no-questions RS season) + the extra COVID year.

Capehart’s RS season was, sadly, mismanaged by our coaches and burned. Theoretically, Capehart would be eligible for his RS 2025, but that of course wouldn’t make any sense.

I hope that the coaches can make a convincing argument to the NCAA that Capehart deserves a RS year. Who knows?

Convincing that has to occur. The question is whether he wants to play another year of college, and if so, does he want to do that at Clemson

Tre Williams has that 6th year of eligibility in 2025 if he wants it. We sure could use him again, whether or not Capehart gets the extra year.

Someone on TNet posted yesterday that Vic Burley has had ongoing knee problems that impaired his ability to perform well during 2024. Supposedly he’s having another surgical procedure on his knee soon in hopes that this fixes him. Sorry to be a downer, but this doesn’t sound good.

Thus, the elevated need for Tre Williams to return. If Capehart gets that additional year, then we’ll have a DL that will be as good as 2022’s DL (which means very very good).
