Always pull for them if not playing Clemson. My Clemson Master was a joint program w them when I was in it so I claim them as most of my classes were there

That was 1974 NCAA tournament game played at the Palestra in Philadelphia.

Clyde Mayes, Fessor “Moose” Leonard, and Broadway Bruce Grimm led the Paladins as the upset the chickens!!

I loved it!!!

Same. I tend to pull for all SC teams against other competition (except that school in Columbia). Would love to see multiple SC schools in the NCAAT.

I got my MBA there going to night school while working in Greenville. It was the joint program. I think it was called the Clemson at Furman program. Beautiful campus. I went to one of the football playoff games there back when Furman was competing for the national championship (div 1AA, I think). Totally different experience than Clemson, but fun just the same. Kind of like I would imagine a football game at Harvard or Yale might be like. There were plenty of people tailgating with sweaters draped over their shoulders.

FU lost to Wofford 81 - 62 at the Bon Secours Arena Jan 13th and won by 3 at Wofford March 1st. Lost to VMI 91 - 82 at VMI Jan 22 and won by 4 at Bon Secours on Feb 22. Looks to be a competitive game.
Looking at the schedule, FU home games were at BJU's Davis Fieldhouse or Bon Secours. Guess FU's campus facility is being renovated.

Saw many FU games at the old auditorium especially during the Poinsettia Classic. Also saw the Tigers last appearance at Sirrine Stadium as well as other FU football games. When the Tigers played mainly one pm games, would see those and then go to FU night games later after a stop at Pete's drive in. Certainly miss doing that.

Are there any Pete's left in Greenville? I know Como Pete's on Augusta was razed for a bank and the original Pete's on Stone Ave @ East North St. was destroyed in an explosion and fire caused by flooding at that intersection.

There's a Pete's Quality Foods at 500 White Horse Rd that I found on line just now. The photos show it to be an eat in restaurant with some of the same type fare as a drive in. Probably not related to the original Petes. The Palmetto drive in on Laurens Rd has converted to the same style.

The following was copied from the Clock's history page.
The first restaurant bearing The Clock name appeared in Greenville in 1950, on Buncombe Street across from the Kash and Karry. The Buncombe St. location was owned by two young men. They opened a second restaurant, The Clock #2 on Stone Avenue, soon after.

Current photos of the Wade Hampton location show it to be in the original style.

Maybe Petes took over the Stone Ave location when Clock #2 closed down. Haven't lived in G'ville since late 1986 so don't have any first hand knowledge about it.

Furman ended up the 5th seed and Wofford the 6th. 11-7 and 10-8 respectively in the conference. The 3 point win by Furman last weekend flipped those teams in the conference. Wofford is blowing out VMI. Should be a great game tomorrow night - Go Terriers! Great to see at least one other SC team headed to the dance regardless.
