Updating a previous post on Clemson's record against NCAA teams -
Clemson vs. seeds #1 - #6: 0 and 8
USuCk vs seeds #1 - #6: 1 and 2
Clemson vs. seeds #7 - #16: 4 and 4 (losses by 1, 1, 6, and 6)
USuCk vs Seed #7 - #16: 2 and 3 (losses by 3, 7, and 9)
Clemson vs. non NCAAT teams: 13 and 3
USuCk vs. non NCAAT teams: 19 and 5
Clemson beat USuCk head-to-head.
Clemson played 8 games against Top 6 seed comp (including 6 on the road), while USuCk played 3.
Clemson played 16 games against NCAAT teams, USuCk played only 8.
USuCk fattened up on non-NCAAT teams, yet still lost 5 such games to Clemson's 3, including by 16 at Memphis and twice to Bama.
So yeah, fire Brad because he didn't make the tournament, and see of we can hire ol' Frankie off the Coots. wtph....
If Brownell had Frankie's schedule, we'd be Top 15, no doubt.

still trying to figure out how 0-8 vs seeds 1-6 (or top 25) is a good thing.
Nobody is firing Brownell based just on this season. It's based on the last 6 seasons. This year was his best team yet. An NBA pick coming back for his senior year, a senior PG and C, a transfer that was a top 30 recruit and another that was top 100. And still just NIT, in a year where it didn't take a whole lot to get in the NCAA tourney. Brownell's peak at Clemson is NIT (unless you give him another coach's players that had been to 3 straight NCAA's and expand the field). I'm willing to give somebody else a chance and risk missing out on that 1 NIT trip every 3 years for a chance at something better.

what you want to believe.....
I simply gave you facts.... facts - specificity - comparatives....
one guy guy seems the savior of a program, the other ready to be fired by the local yokels.
and yet when you compare the schedules
it appears one guy has been coddled like a babe in the manger
while the other is dragged up the hill strapped to a wooden cross-beam.
no one said 0-8 is good -
I only said that Frank's record ain't too good either - ain't even as good as Brad's -
once you pull up his skirt and take a peek underneath.

E X A C T L Y - We have a lot of Tiger "fans" on Tigernet who have given up being a top basketball program because Duke and Carolina have been there forever. Their excuses sound just like Coots when they talk about their football history. NIT is CBB's ceiling and I KNOW Clemson can do better.
CBB has had this program for 2 recruiting cycles and it's still going no where. Time to try and find someone who can improve Clemson not stagnate. BTW, I like Pat Kelsey of Winthrop he is a mini Dabo.

I just do not see our Tigers "hitting the floor" and the coach inspiring toughness or giving the ball to the best player at end of game except for one game, which Bloss won for us!

Bowden and Brownell, nor
our football and basketball programs.
They coexist under the same Paw trademark, and that's about all.
Get over Bowden - the rest of us have moved on to the point that we recognize what he couldn't do well.
As to players on the floor, I've actually seen Gabe Devoe working at the defensive end of the floor and down on the floor scrapping for loose balls. Others have done it as well, but Devoe is notable because he wasn't known as a particularly good defensive player coming out of HS. It's obvious he is one that has recognized he'll get more playing time under Brownell if he plays both ends of the floor. And if this team wasn't great defensively, why do people blame that on BB - it's not like he forgot how to teach defense, is it?
But sadly, as I gave you facts, you gave me opinions and emotion. That's about all you see from the "fire the Coach" genuflect crowd - apparently, like snake oil, firing the Coach heals all wounds.

I hate Carolina but Martin will do what it takes to get a player. I can't say that for Brownell.
