A federal judge temporarily blocked President Donald Trump's plan to slash billions in research funding to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on Monday just hours after 22 states sued to stop it.
I guess fighting Cancer is too woke for this admin.

The NIH has been responsible for funding breakthroughs in cancer treatment, vaccines, heart disease, and countless other medical advances that save lives.
If you believe life-saving research is equivalent to ‘creating bioweapons,’ I’d be curious to hear what medical advances you think should be defunded.
Cutting NIH funding doesn’t just hurt research—it slows down progress on diseases that affect millions of Americans, regardless of politics

Just out of curiosity, what breakthroughs in cancer treatments? I admit I am ignorant on that subject. The people that I personally know that have had cancer all did chemotherapy. Is there some other treatment that cures cancer?

Think of a chemotherapy drug regimen, or a screening paradigm, or an immunotherapy, or a molecular screen, or a modern infectious disease treatment like the drugs for Hep C and HIV, HPV vaccines, novel surgical treatments, radiation treatment algorithms, robotic surgery, pretty much any one of any of those things you can imagine were funded at least in part by NIH grants to research labs at US institutions.
If you want a specific example, the one most people probably know about is BRCA gene mutations in breast cancer. The identification and characterization of those mutations and adaptations to screening and prophylactic treatment paradigms have save countless women’s lives in the last 20-30 years.

a totally separate agency, so you can see why all medical research needs to stop immediately. It's wasteful, corrupt government spending that is lining politicians pockets. How, you ask? Don't you worry about that, just trust Keowee that it's definitely happening.

Cool, thanks. My buddy had some kind of crazy brain tumor that basically had tentacles wrapped in his brain. I forget what it’s called exactly but a small percentage of people survive it because it’s so difficult to remove. They had to keep him awake while they did the surgery. Somehow, they removed it completely and he’s been cancer free for 5 years now. I knew there had been major advances in surgery capabilities/cancer removal. Just didn’t know of any other treatments than chemo. That #### sucks.

If they would stop suppressing cancer CURES, we wouldn't need the research money.

cured cancer, which he said he would do, and thus, we do not need as many research dollars.
I'll text DJT and let him know that was not the case.
