Do y'all remember the Ballroom next to the Canteen?

If I remember correctly, it was under the Logia next to the Canteen in Johnstone. I only went in it once in 1981 for a viewing of Disney original drawings.
Was it ever used for any functions that you attended?

i had to think long on that one as i cant remember going in there for anything in particular. I was on campus from 98' to 02'

I think there was a blood drive, and maybe a plant sale in that room every year. A long time ago.

It was called the palmetto ballroom. Went to a few things there in the late 80’s-early 90’s

Went there once during early 80s for a summer camp job fair. Worked a camp for 10 weeks one summer. You could take a “draw” on your pay for the one day off you had each week to head “into town”. At the end of the season, they gave you a check for your summer salary less the draws. I got $42!!! Oops. Had to work extra hours the following semester!! But summer that year was a blast!!

I went there for 2 events: "clubs day" during welcome week for freshmen at Clemson and a joint military dining-in for all ROTC Cadets & Marine Corps Officer Candidates.
It reminded me of the Native American museum in DC with the weird brown/yellow stucco walls.

I had to stand in line for 6 hours to sign my financial aid pkg in that ballroom. I also took a ballroom dancing leisure skill in that ballroom!

Yes ..... some of the rock and roll bands played there for events. I remember specifically Shirley Bassey ..... the name game song. I remember when she sang it everyone trying to get her to do the name game using the name Chuck. You guys under 60 (or more) won't get it!

It was one of the assigned spaces for sorority rush back in the day, along with Edgars, the Alumni Center, the patio of the Y, and some of the stadium suites.

That was very interesting.
The only other thing I can remember happening there was a co-op recruiting event.
