Do we really understand how blessed we are to have Dabo?

Finally had time to watch the presser. It's really a window in to who he truly is. His love for CJ and joy in being a part of his Hall of Fame induction. For BV and TE as he does everything he can to assist them in laying a foundation for success. The mutual respect for each other.
The genuine excitement of working with his new cast, and the same type passion for them. Hearing how he's maintained continuity through his communication with them, and seeing those plans fulfilled. Plans ready for years.
His type leadership is the rarest of rare. Where people truly matter and are not just fodder to advance oneself. Where their development, staff or player, is a huge part of the overall success. The gift of relating to people so as to form lifelong bonds.
Rare leaders forge their own way. There are many different leadership styles, but some stand out, as they are so unique in the culture. Saban right now is the greatest coach ever, he has his way. But I personally prefer what Dabo calls "The Clemson Way." It stands out in a sea of win at any cost. Whatever it takes. That can work, but it never lasts.
Dabo is a genius many regard as a buffoon. Cheerleader, can't coach, salesman. He revels in it. He knows, and so should we. He's a visionary gifted by God to lead and build men. There simply are not many of those left.
And he's our football coach, exactly what he wants to be.
Truly blessed

Sadly, I def don’t think some do… maybe more than you think that actually don’t realize it to be honest . I couldn’t imagine having anyone else run this program not only from the success standpoint but how he’s done it also, that’s what I admire about what he’s done. I think when it’s all said and done ppl will See it but now is the time to sit back and watch yet another plan unfold… which if it was a betting man I’d say will be super successful as well. Dread the day he finally hangs it up.

Think what they may. It's hard to argue with the results.

Exactly. Most coaches prepare their players for football. Dabo prepares ours for LIFE. Go Tigers.

As long as we have that man, we’re good.
You’re exactly right. That leadership style is extremely rare. Hopefully many people are learning at least pieces of it, but the total package is hard to duplicate.

Striper living through the 90’s with our turmoil and to see where we are now it’s hard for me to feel anything but fortunate and blessed. Lived through 3 Nattie’s, remembering 2 of them. Most fan bases will never experience this level of success. Again a great post!

I understand for sure. Worried about some here though. Of course some are just posers so here is probably not the most accurate representation of the fanbase

I would rather ride with Dabo and go 4-8 than with some jerk coach and win it all every season. The best part is we likely won't be going 4-8 with Dabo that often and we get the best of both worlds.

I will be interested in seeing how many of you guys will stick with this messiah perception of Dabo if these new coordinator hires don't lead us back to the Top Ten or the CFP.
How many of y'all would be willing to stick with this "leader of young men" scenario if we went 8 - 4 or 7 - 5 for the next five seasons ??

If that happens, rest assured ... Dabo will leave.

We will not need to run him off.
We stuck with him while he built the program even when he had a losing record and lost five in a row to SCAR.
He rewarded us with an unimaginable period of success.
Right now, he may have to go through a slight re-set due to circumstances, but Dabo will get it fixed.
He has to, because Clemson does not want to go through another 20 years like the ones before Dabo nor the decades prior to Danny.
For Clemson ... it’s pretty much Dabo or nothing.
You’d have to have been around for a long while to realize that, though.

Look how quickly the narrative this season changed from "culture" to frustration with Dabo because of the play calling, state of the Oline and QB play. The culture didn't change. The narrative changed because in the end, Dabo is paid (handsomely) to win games. Let him drop 3 games next year and watch how few people are talking "culture."

The general Clemson fans that I interact with are fine and are happy. There are always ebb and flows and some things that cannot be controlled but there is no need to generalize the fan base with some that will never be happy on TNet. Big statement with a small sample base.

Dabo is indeed, paid handsomely to win games.
In the end, that’s what it’s about. Losing coaches don’t last anywhere. Especially today.
The difference with me and a large portion of the fans is that we want a coach who wins games *AND* produces as many successful, upstanding college graduates as possible.
We want our program to win games (of course we do) but we also expect the program to reflect well on the university.
If it comes down to a case of “winning” as the only bottom line objective, I trust that Dabo Swinney will leave the profession entirely, or go to another school that appreciates what he brings to the party.
Note: This is absolutely not a universal sentiment on TNet. But, to a lot of us, it doesn’t matter. We like what we have and want Dabo to have the chance to continue it his way.

Stripe, I agree with everything you said. My only "warning"

comment is this: On any level playing field, I believe Dabo Swinney will continue to have us at or near the top of college football for years to come.
However, this NIL monster, if unchecked, IS GOING TO PRODUCE AN UNLEVEL PLAYING FIELD where Clemson will be hard pressed to compete. Now, Dabo is not just sitting around when it comes to that arena, either. But, some other schools have resources affiliated with them in various ways that we simply cannot match.
For us to continue to compete successfully in the Wild Wild West of NIL, Dabo is going to have to go out and RECRUIT some of those big money sources to align themselves with Clemson, having not had former ties to the University. If it can be done, Dabo will find a way.

are made to the NIL process, and also to see what we'll do.
Can we operate ethically in the wild west? Can our culture lure the kids not chasing the almighty dollar as a first concern? Guys like the number 1 QB who just signed.
It's going to be very interesting to watch unfold. I think next years recruiting class will tell us a lot. And I'm betting it's a monster class

A person best understands a blessing, when they take the time to appreicate the essence of the blessing. Wish we could get everyone on this board ALL-IN.
