Time to evaluate yourself as a coach and as a player. One year I played for 2 different baseball coach's. The first coach would yell and scream at you and embarrass you in front of everybody at the game. My batting average was .285. When I played in a more competitive league our coach was layed bad and let you play and enjoy the game. My batting avg went up to .468. (HS / Summer League ).
To answer you question, yes IMO the coach has to enjoy what he does and has to have a passion to win but both need to be directed positively to the players. It's kinda reminds me of the saying " if momma ain't happy nobody is"
Last year I think Jack and the team were under so much pressure to win that they lost the enjoyment of the game. IMO this affected the teams play as well as wins and losses. Each mistake, each strike out with runners in scoring position and each loss increased the pressure and I don't think anybody had fun last season.
