when I watched the Heels and Dookies play, the fouls/no fouls in that game compared to our game exposed the inconsistency between officiating teams. On several (maybe four) occasions, Wake's aggressive offensive moves would have been called charges in the Heels / Dook game.
Also, was there indisputable evidence to overturn the Wake goal-tending call?
Sure, if we had had John Wooden we would have won by 10.
Note to all: my wife, who has gained immense round ball knowledge, made the same observations.

I could also make the case that the Tar Holes got jobbed by the refs in the last 3 minutes on several very bad calls....it was almost as if the refs wanted Dook to win......go figure.

You are correct re: the ACC officiating difference in the two games. It was obvious. Poor PJ was being beaten silly inside and they never called a thing, then when he passed gas a couple of times near a Deacon, a foul was called. Coach K or Dean Smith would have killed the officials and eaten them on the spot unless they called it like they wanted. It has always been that way in the ACC so I guess it always will be. It seems all the ACC officials are out on a Work Release Program of some kind from the North Carolina Prison System, so if you don't favor the NC schools, back in the slammer ya go!

The call was correctly made.. you obviously aren’t familiar with the rule book.

Why are we always referring to the rule book

when the refs obviously refuse to follow it? At least in a lot of cases like walking.... shoulders being thrown under the basket..... 2 hands and a shove to make a guy almost fall down.....

The goaltending call reversal was legit. Your other observations are all accurate. however. When even the doofus announcers calling the game commented on some of the "fouls" called against PJ and not called on Wake, you know it must have been obvious. When the refs go back to their homes in North Carolina, it's easier on them if the NC schools get the win. It's the main reason Arkansas left the old SWC - All the refs were from Texas!

`The goaltending call may or may not have been legit. All the announcers were looking at was whether the ball had hit the backboard, in which case if it had it would have automatically been goaltending. However, if the ball had started its downward trajectory, regardless of whether it had hit the backboard, it is goaltending ..... and that was a judgement call as it was about impossible to determine when it started or if it had started downward.

indisputable evidence to be overturned? The call was goaltending and the replay didn't appear to have enough evidence to change the call.
